It was overdone due to shorting, which produce opportunties for longs that would not exist should shorting not allowed, long live the shorters....picked up loads at under 520p yesterday, already over 550p.

Seems cheap

The outlook for the welding business (ESAB) can change very quickly as the forward orders are short-term.

The consensus eps forecast before the statement was roughly 74p. A 15% fall would be 63p and a forward PE of 8.5.

One profit warning generally leads to another..then another!
I am sure you don't need Harry Cajones to tell you, there are many examples around!!

For that reason, and expecting another profits warning...i will keep my shaggers punt on the table circa £2.50

Sanks
Hope it helps

Agree with you there, deadly. Looks like overreaction due to unfortunate timing.
only who?

Looking forward, the Board anticipates that ESAB will continue to trade in line with the performance in the second half of 2010, and, as a result, even though Howden is trading somewhat ahead of the Board's previous expectations it expects that the outcome for Charter International, as a whole, for 2011 will be below its expectations at the time of the interim management statement issued on April 20, 2011.

IMS out.
Good trading continues.
Has fallen too far and should catch up with others in the sector in the coming months.
