18/11/2008 12:01 | I'm no leftie, far from it.I find it difficult to be flippant tho'.No one really has any idea how to cure these economic ills. Take the UK.When the majority of employees are worried about losing their jobs how do you stimulate an economy that is so service orientated. It's going to get worse .Making money?I'm not clever enough for that, not in these markets.I've never been a naked shorter,a hedger on occasions only. If the hedge funds account for 4% of global pension assets and those hedge funds are perhaps 20 times geared then it's quite feasible ,when you take in mutual fund redemptions and other investment liquidations that the amount of money "invested"- i use the term loosely-in global stockmarkets could halve in this current crisis. The resultant effects upon some companies will be catastrophic. We have the seed corn for revolution and war,any historian will tell you that.So trot out your ever lower share price targets but don't ignore the consequences. | steeplejack
17/11/2008 16:15 | oh dear not another leftie...so whats the answer big boy? How are you making money...going long on CHTR? | jotoha1
17/11/2008 13:20 | Very difficult to tell, next qtr update should give us more of a feel as to how they are doing, would expect much further price falls , looking at the chart ,around 50p give or take abit should be a nice target to chase! | jotoha1

12/11/2008 17:57 | hi how do you find out the % of stock on loan? thanks | dewi141
12/11/2008 17:00 | steeple, for my sins have been short via a CFD since £7.10 , they will need all that profit just to stand still for the next 18 months, however its been one of my best investments ever back in 2003 , just amazing how this company moves over the years! | jotoha1
12/11/2008 16:39 | Well you're obviously well short. It's not getting nasty.it's been nasty and is nasty.20% ON LOAN...that makes me optimistic for a bit of squeeze in due course. | steeplejack
12/11/2008 15:34 | If the bulk of their sales is from welding etc, then this has a long way to fall. North America will take untill 3rd qtr next year to see any sign of a change in a slow down , and with 20% of stock on loan its going to get very nasty here! | jotoha1 |
