HRT ANNOUNCES THE ARRIVAL OF TRANSOCEAN MARIANAS
SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE RIG IN WALVIS BAY

Rio de Janeiro, February 7th, 2013 - HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. (the "Company" or "HRT") (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP) announces that today the semi-submersible drilling-rig Transocean Marianas from Transocean (NYSE: RIG) arrived in Walvis Bay at 5:00am local time. The rig will undergo mandatory maintenance for the next three to four weeks, before starting HRT's drilling campaign in Walvis and Orange sedimentary basins.

As noted by the Company on January 15, 2013, the Marianas is expected to commence drilling operations on the Wingat Prospect, in Walvis basin at HRT's Petroleum Exploration License 23 (PEL-23), by March 2013. Wingat is located at a water depth of 1,000 meters and drilling operations are expected to last approximately 60 days

The government is not awarding any new licences.. If u read the article they bought the licenses off an existing holder who was in financial distress

Those taking the first licences will have gone for the most prospective ones, in their view. Unless BP et al see things differently then they will value the existing licences higher than the empty ones. Add to which the juniors holding the licences have done work on them, so explo is at a more advanced stage.

If licences are still up for grabs and bp and pb are so desperate to get into namibia why dont they just acquire the licences now rather than wait and pay a premium to jnrs?

Transocean Marianas has now arrived in Namibia and is approaching Walvis Bay.

Assuming they manage to complete the upgrade/ maintenance program within the quoted timescale of around 3 weeks, then she should easily be on site and spudding the first HRT well ahead of their end of the quarter target

Note: So either all the oilers are completely wrong - all of them - all their geophysicists, geologists, money men etc.....

Or there is Oil in Namibia :-) and that is why they are acquiring acreage.

Of course the Oil could have stopped just at the Angola Border - and then started again just at the South Africa Border....LOL

Have just been reading the CHAR iii BB.


Nimrod 2, was started by Scotslass, just after Nimrid 1.

As jimmy says, with drill results fromm Nimrod 1, and the seismic correlation that has been carried, months ago, BP know exatly what the situation.

This is very bad for the CHAR PI, shareholders.

Given that BP know know for certain what is in Nimrod, they will let it lie for a few years while the work the big plan to find other reservoirs.


Oh, sorry, I forgot, they just won't tell anyone what was they found.

It kissed it and got a small retrace. It may try to break through the circle.... or drop lower as I think it may...but whatever, the circle is being respected.
