I am worried Petrel Resources might takeover Chariot at this rate...

I think anyone selling this now, needs to just give up on investing..

I see Petrel Resources are up over 300% today, valuing the company at £20.2m, based on the fact they have 1b prospective resources and at last accounts $4m in cash.

Yet no excitement here, valued at £53.5m with 14.5b in prospective resources and at last accounts $120m in cash.

we are hoping for a bounce off this one.. i think there is a realistic chance of that... the 3d is complete on namibia central so we are waiting on the CPR update which should improve the COS. not seen any exciting buying activity to indicate this is imminent tho

triples,

look at the recent takeovers such as Encore.
The company will be brought to its knees until an offer is made. this is the way to make people accept a low offer. It is the same thing all the time.

The slow grind down continues.... yawn.

If there is any hope of a takeover, then the stockmarket doesn't believe it.

I wonder how PET compares with CHAR?

Namibia still HOT HOT HOT!

When is a duster not a duster?Easy---when you drill in a sub prime location and to the wrong depth.Loads of data from those two wells imo.Hold tight--don't be forced OUT.

Lots happening in Namibia now and in 2013

a fair bit to wade through but well worth it.

Eco oil and gas has just raised a load of money to fund upcoming 3D seismics. share price was 32c and they raised the money at 40c......!!

I expect to see lots of cooperation between the block holders from now on. Share seismic boats, intel etc... it makes sense as everyone is looking for someone to strike big. They are not competitor enemies but competitor team mates

HRT Farm Out Namibia

The minutes of the HRT Board Meeting of 9th Nov posted in Portugese on the HRT website. In English, per google translate below, HRT management authorised by its Board to negotiate with a new farm in offer which it received.

Jimmy

Continuing, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, Mr. Marcio
Rocha Mello reported on the progress of the company's activities, such
as activities related to the company's assets in Namibia and exploratory campaign
in the Solimoes Basin, among others, the Board decided unanimously
authorize the Company to proceed with negotiations involving farm out certain
assets in Namibia, with respect to the proposal received from a new company.

TK, I do not see CHAR doing a placing to raise funds anytime soon; this is backed up by their statement that their cash position is enough to fund all their near term activity (Such as completing seismics). Maybe, they will do a placing when they are traing around 100p but definitely not now when they are being traded at a discount.
With regards to funding their drilling activity, CHAR will definitely farm-out and have all their costs covered like they did with the Nimrod drill which did not cost them a penny. When they farm out, as well as covering the drilling costs, it will also cover the past costs. GL

Greetings, Im not a holder here as yet,but certainly very interested in investing in CHAR and have been watching the company closely over the past few weeks, waiting for the right time to buy in.The Current share price seems to be a good entry level and appears to offer fair value re.market cap,risk/reward etc,and members of the bod seem to think so aswell with their recent dealings. How likely is the raising of further financing over the next 6 months, or does the company have enough cash with a £70m holding to complete the 2 proposed drills in 2013?thanks.TK

I cannot see anyone wanting to take them over yet. They only have a few licences, with potential. Most oil companies need some oil first.

I am a holder.

Interesting if theres substance to the Larry story, he does appear to be well connected. I would welcome any T/O - but not really getting to excited as I know the value of CHAR will unravel in 2013 with HRT/TRP and CHAR themselves drilling.

Alex,

We are looking at a small time frame here. from today to around February when HRT begins drilling. There will be support for the share price after February specially on strike from HRT so the share price wont be anywhere near 28p then

So a takeover can happen anytime now...the timing is perfect.

Larry being an old man would have the skills to make sure the takeover happens.

Alex Hawk.. I have to disagree. There is a very good chance of CHAR being taken over as the share price has been manipulated for the last 2 months + companies get taken over when they are cheap (i.e. trading at discount). If this is not true, would you kindly explain to me exactly what Larry's role will be in CHAR apart from negotiation a T/O? GL and ATB

I may have posted this before:

(now in header)

The page showing the oil seeps is very helpful.

Chariot's Central licence has a good seep in the north of the licence area. The 3D that has just been shot is in the north east of this licence area.

Chariot's Southern licences are near plenty of seeps. We also know that the source rock is good. It must be 'just' a question of finding a reservoir....

Rumours of a takeover at £1.50 are resurfacing.
Given the manipulation of the share price for 2 months now, one can only assume that this time, CHAR will end up being taken over.

Hi Pedramp,

I used those Morningstar figures as well as those in the Chariot November ops update and the Halifax sheet posted on lse or ixi.

I don't think one source has all the data, so I combined the data from the different sources.
