09/11/2017 17:58 | Hope the share price improves, logging of till the 23rd, I find when you down loads this is the best thing to do, it a lot less stressful if you don't know what's happening, good luck chaps | jpjohn1
09/11/2017 17:24 | Maybe we would have left the EU but the great repeal law would have already copied all the EU rules onto UK statute. | hamhamham1
09/11/2017 17:20 | How come as it would require a new vote to abide by EU rules as the process to come out has been triggered and is not reversable in my view....... | anley1
09/11/2017 17:14 | The annuity comparison is interesting. A 55 year old man can sacrifice £100,000 of his pension pot and buy a flat annuity of 4.2% until he dies. It falls to 2.6% if the payment is uplifted by 3% per annum. CNA are paying 7% right now, and owning the shares you do not have to sacrifice their value. No contest. CNA could triple by the time a 55 year old dies. There is something wrong with todays prices. Corbyn has really spooked the markets. I still cannot imagine him at number 10. And if he gets in, I doubt if he could nationalise because of EU rules. (yes, them) | careful
09/11/2017 17:03 | careful - down from 400p to 168p IN A RECORD BREAKING MARKET ! Now that's remarkable. | mitchy
09/11/2017 17:01 | CarefulAlways like your posts sir.Haven't really got anything constructive to say but let's all keep away from sharp objects the evening.Pleasant evening | nortic 007
09/11/2017 16:57 | it is always darkest before the dawn. Centrica is a real company doing real work and is making profits. The chattering and political classes just talk and talk and achieve nothing. Centrica just get on with it. Ignore the share price and capital value, Think of it as a dividend paying annuity. Down from 400p is remarkable though. | careful
09/11/2017 16:53 | If SSE announced yesterday that their household energy division is losing money and npower has been losing money for years. Together they will have about 23% of the market. To make a profit surely they will have to raise their tariff prices? This new company will not have the support of the profits to subsidise them from other divisions of the old companies. | hamhamham1
09/11/2017 16:44 | The Samaritans are going to be busy tonight :( | nortic 007
09/11/2017 16:34 | It's the government dragging their feet over the bill for the cap, they could have found time to table the bill by now but I think they are trying to move so slowly that the utilities and OFGEM sort it out without them having to follow through. More of the same I guess until the government actually do what they say they are going to do. If you are going to interfere then bloody interfere for God's sake :) | hamhamham1
09/11/2017 15:58 | At this price we are only 3.6p of record lows, I wish I could be more cheerful but that's the fact !!! | jpjohn1
09/11/2017 15:48 | How do you know what the "big" boys are doing so this is fake news is it not? Most posters are just short term punters and if they were to open their dealing books I bet there would be hardly any profitable ones. Lets stick to fundementals and not trying to move markets which we can't do. Start with the break-up value of CNA. | anley1
09/11/2017 15:44 | One day good, and you think the share price is starting to move in the right direction then you get a day like this and sorry to say it, think why do we bother !!!!! :( | jpjohn1
09/11/2017 15:35 | There seemed to be a massive sell off this morning right through to just after lunch time then it's picked up big time for Buys. Makes you think the big boys are pumping up and down. | capeview
09/11/2017 15:31 | And the reason for a 2.2% fall today is ............ | supermarky
09/11/2017 14:55 | Yep. Even though it's down, it feels like its developing a bit of backbone? Finish over 170p would underline that but I don't want to jinx it, so que sera sera. | hamhamham1
09/11/2017 14:52 | It's a rocky road | supermarky
09/11/2017 14:04 | Not a bad day, technically it still looks like it is bottoming. | andyj
09/11/2017 13:59 | 14 weeks today CNA announce the final div but by then it will be well over 200p | portside1
09/11/2017 13:43 | After such a good day yesterday it sucks big today. Obviously a bunch of profit taking must be occurring. Either that or the big boys forcing it down again with a nice cut for themselves. | capeview
09/11/2017 13:22 | As for centrica first half figures. (The earnings figure rsther the profit figure is used for the P/E ratio I think) .. hxxps://www.centrica | hamhamham1
09/11/2017 12:54 | An historic yield of 7% and a PE of 5.4. Someone has thrown away the rule book. this is a bubble in reverse, a collapsed black hole or something. What would Buffett buy, Bitcoin or Centrica? | careful
09/11/2017 12:32 | But part of me can't help but think all the utilities are holding an ugly competition. "You think you look bad, well look at me!" Witb the government are on the judging panel, they will look at the performances and then hold up their scoring paddles with a cap value on it ...severrrrrn :) | hamhamham1 |
