20/8/2019 16:20 | You are probably very right,but Trump is ratcheting up the pressure on Powell and the Fed.I think he wants to keep the pressure on China in his trade war and use of tariffs for a while longer yet,so he wants The Fed to do his bidding and slash domestic interest rates...and fast.The trade war is affecting US GDP and domestic consumption negatively so Trump wants to offset this with tax cuts(which he's already done and might do more)and lower domestic interest rates.This is where the Fed needs to be leaned on by Trump and Navarro....mostly using his early morning tweeting. | redbaron10 | |
