Exactly that #martinfrench.. it's the zero stamp that makes it a more attractive trade.., rises are sold into in the afternoons for a penny, it's fine I'm here for dividends and a CG if I get it.. :o)

The danger of trading it for a penny is missing the boat and being caught empty handed, and if enough people trade the chart, a golden cross will influence strategy to a hold I expect..

Back to 150-160p by the summer.. the intra-day doesn't matter much to me, the trend is up that's what counts..

Laurence,

i'm slightly surprised people on here are actually questioning the penny here or there strategy, with enough invested, say 10k minimum, you only have to beat the call by 0.3p to make a profit (0.3 being the bid/ask difference and 2 way brokers fees). So its entirely sensible in a lot of ways (especially if your trying to get a reduced broker bonus for being a frequent trader).

You can hold a bit and day trade the rest, i kind of do it occasionally but cant get my head around the fact this is a 0 stamp duty stock (old habits).

Clearly, any rise in muted purely for this reason!

No idea what the golden cross will do this time around, it does seem to be coinciding with pushing the 120 barrier, so maybe they will nicely coincide....hope so.

It's drawing ever closer #martinfrench.. :o)

I'm surprised there are so many people playing this for a penny in/out.. but each to their own strategy.., the 25th will be here soon enough for news and FY2019 guidance..

This share does not have a good history relative to golden-cross influence.

50 day ma currently sits at 112.5, 200 day 114, so i estimate were talking friday plus for the cross.

was going to post same thing funnily enough.....

Hope so LLB. A golden cross is a very strong buy signal and many institutions trade that way.

50/200 SMA Golden Cross inbound.. :o).. maybe tomorrow, and will be a very interesting share price direction from here.. 120p is bang on the trend line..

Next stop a breakout to 130p ..? supported by the FY2019 guidance and the dividend announced on 25.02.2019

Juju44 I have just read a few of your posts on other boards and they are just one liners with no information or substance relative to the company, so don’t even try to make out your posts are full of great information in fact they’re worthless

KENNYP yes I fully agree with your thesis.
You are correct I didn’t start to buy into CEY until about August time at about 109 and since then have managed to build a reasonable core holding at 101 which stays intact, I don’t touch that but my other funds I just buy in and out when it suits me for the fun of it as there are good sideline profits to be made by trading CEY on its way up.
I find it very odd when people make comment that you can’t make money trading like that.

The holiday sounds great your making me envious have a great time.

Juju44 if you feel it’s boring please write something on the board that’s positive in life you sound like one of the boring Walter mitys I mentioned earlier.

You need to broaden your spectrum
Havnt you got a life outside of CEY?

If I’d just sat on my CEY I would be in big soft and smelly . I traded many times in and out and got my average to 102p now . If you are just going to sit on shares and go for the FTSE averages and dividend income then fine but I am here to trade and have some fun . CEY has been the perfect share when you follow its trends to trade in and out daily with 2p spread and no stamp duty . Here is a question Ken Tennis .. how much you reckon you made dealing this share the last 6 months ? I reckon I have made 12% and am still in with the ability to take 13% today on my core . My guess is you have made a lot more ? I first bought in at 150p so to not trade I would be 23% in the red . Everyone has their tactics but to criticise when someone is making profit doesn’t make sense to me and smacks more of a bit of envy ?
Gone south from Sydney now Ken Tennis and looking at a sunrise over a stunning basin inlet with the wildlife singing it’s song . Life’s good .

I think a weaker dollar, hence stronger gold price is very likely during 2019.

It is encouraging, though to see CEY have a positive day despite the gold price being down today.

Just going to say im quite impressed the way gold and silver are holding up well considering the DXY has been on the uptrend for last 12 days.

I think we must be due a dollar sell off that would be nice for us.

Yes agree Ken.

I would be curious to know Troc's strategy, re his CEY or maybe he does not have one. I always try to hold and let the power of compounding work it's magic but there are times when prices get ahead of themselves and it pays to sell and buy lower.

I agree that CEY is in an uptrend. The macro economic climate should see the gold price substantially higher this year which should firmly underpin the price but CEY are now processing higher grade ore,(for the moment) so we may get positive surprises.

Short term trading is notoriously difficult. We should all be aiming to run profits and cut losses before they become damaging. Picking up small profits without cutting losses is like picking up pennies on a railway track which is fine until a train comes along.

That is not to say though that we should not be taking profits after there is a large divergence above the trend line and buying back in again at support levels or when the share is oversold but small profits will get you nowhere.

Just my opinion and the experience of all very successful investors.
