Gold now approaching $1270 on increasing speculation US tax reform will proceed. Jobs report tomorrow and gold has favourable odds of moving up after the report but "favourable" does not mean it "will".

We could get a "sell-the-news" event when/if the tax reform passes so equities fall and gold rises. We could see a similar result if the tax reform bill does not pass. We could also see a continued downdraft, i.e. no sell-the-news, in which case my $1200-$1215 target (with possible sub $1200 briefly) still looks possible.

Crypto-currencies have high market beta. If the markets tank, so will cryptos. Tether appears to be Bitcoin's Achilles' heel (via the highly dodgy exchange Bitfinex).
