02/11/2007 14:45 | In the statement relating to the tender win is the following gem..:-) 'The value of the firm collapsed, from about 12 stg just before CEO Carter's accident, to 82 pence at the beginning of the month when its shares were suspended.' SO someone does know what the company is worth....somewhere between 12 quid and 82 pence....now if they had said the value of the company's shares collapsed..... | ![]() davidlloyd
02/11/2007 14:27 | spreadfair are offering £50pp at 40p and you can sell at £7pp at 10p | ![]() marycurer
02/11/2007 08:49 | HGal, Interesting point. Suspension will continue until CART fails to comply with LSE requirements. Insolvency would, obviously, force that result. Simon Cawkwell | ![]() simon cawkwell
02/11/2007 08:41 | HGal - how refreshing to read a post from somebody who actually knows what they are talking about. I followed EMTEC´s progress long before their acquisition by CARTER & CARTER and it was an excellent business, and probably still could be if it was not part of a heavily indebted group that is now paying the price for one man´s addiction to deal-making. How often have we seen this sort of growth by acquisition type story end in tears, and every time the City falls for it! What surprised me was the reaction to the aborted BPP deal. The deal clearly had no commercial logic, other than the possibility of stripping some of BPP´s valuable properties, but as soon as the deal was called off the CARTER & CARTER share price resumed its upwards path, whereas you might have thought that this event might have caused some of the City analysts to question just what Phil Carter was up to. It certainly was a major sell signal for me, and I am glad that I did not hesitate! Anyway thanks again for your post - after reading some of the drivel from the likes of hvs et al it was like a breath of fresh air! | ![]() mesquida

01/11/2007 09:12 | there is no fixed time limit in law on suspension .. until the issue is resolved .. I have seen companies suspended for nearly 9 months. | v01101999
31/10/2007 21:56 | Is there a period of time allowed for suspension or is it one of those vague things in that it lasts as long as it lasts for the issues to be resolved. | hgal
31/10/2007 17:25 | It is deffinatley game over ??? | bullet1201
31/10/2007 16:14 | ITS GAME OVER. | ![]() hvs
31/10/2007 16:05 | Carter & Carter (CART) must surely be unsuspended within days. If not I would suggest that it is game over | nimrah
28/10/2007 13:08 | .......nakedshorter - precisely. I am a local authority councillor and the sheer waste of money is breathtaking. I have pushed for each ward to have 2 instead of 3 councillors, for job cuts in the posts that are non-productive and for a freeze in council tax. Guess what? You might as well talk to the wall. | smelgy
27/10/2007 19:53 | just seen that a council charged £114k to put in a zebra crossing..could have built a house for that...see why council taxes are so high with these pillocks in charge | nakedshorter
27/10/2007 18:34 | Vocational training is just the same as the council, spend money to create jobs that don't exist. Spending under nu labour is 45% of GDP, how long can this go on for? All these companies like capita,BPP must have more waste than biffa! | ![]() wipo1
27/10/2007 15:47 | In addition to that ramble, I also hold shares in this so if it appears that I am trying to ramp this share, I do have an interest. It would be good to hear if anyone knows if it is going top re-appear in teh near future. | hgal
27/10/2007 15:46 | It would appear that posters in here have either a poor understanding of vocational training or very little experience of it. If vocational training is so bad, why are mainstream schools and colleges being forced to go down this route? CART have been a good provider of vocational training to thousands of people. Under the guises of EMTEC they did a good job and had many manufacturers under their belt. The acquisition of REMIT helped this along with some dilution of brand name. The later acquisitions of Train to Gain type organisations has caused some concern over the suitability of work based learning but overall the work based learning sector is highly suitable for those that have had a poor academic experience or outcome. I am a supporter of work based learning and know it has many benefits over and above academia. It gives employers the skills base that they need and meets the immediate needs of the workforce. | hgal
27/10/2007 14:33 | Hi HVS, That sums it up.LOL, an absolute disgrace that this went up to £12. Same as the DWP giving them contracts, tax payers money going to waste, vocational training what a load of ...... | ![]() wipo1
27/10/2007 12:40 | Carter and Carter (CART) might be requoted next week. If it is not I surmise that it is never coming back. I am happy to be short either way, I AGREE with this 100% TIPS.COM | nimrah
