montyhedge,

This move to the BVI is fine. Further, I understand that CIHL is trading well. So I am keeping my price target right now of 50p.

Today's rns, is it to pay no corporation tax. Which would mean bigger dividends ? Simon whats your view.

2 April 2020 -

Myself, I haven't a clue as to how good loans etc., against CIHL banks are secured or whether they might face losses. Not paying a dividend may be purely a gut reaction rather than great worries on likely losses. Paying a dividend might be seen as just out of line with UK banks or/and rather un-Lordly. - one has to have some concerns all the same.

These are difficult circumstances and even the best might cry out how well they have done on some fronts, and forget to publicise their interests elsewhere. As with Dr Mark Mobius on gold and forgetting about his India projections.

Some sold CIHL over 43p a share and well done us, even though my average sell was nearer 41p and not as good as the clever racier types. Difficult to unload for those with a truck load but then I expect EK and Co only care on a marginally somewhat frustrated front.

The fall in banking shares in general is pushing CIHL down, like it or not. The country will be affected by the low oil price despite its relatively newly acquired green credentials. After the crash in America, China, Asia, Russia and Europe, many countries may now decide not to repay their debts and expect to be coronavirus excused.

Only EK appears to have a proper handle on this one and maybe follow what he has to say on the matter. My own view is that all banks are worth a lot less and some smaller ones will collapse.

As some will have seen, there has been one case of Covid-19 reported so far in Belize but not I think a fatality. Of course what happens now remains to be seen.

However, it seems to be business as usual for Bank of Belize. If this persists, CIHL is still ridiculously cheap.

Interesting now. Most will know little about Belize. EK appears to know more than most so is probably an act to follow. Will Belize seek comfort from Lebanon's failure to pay and I think also means not paying interest. This may be catching.
Evil at Master Investors:

As Trump opens more waters for oil exploration, the tiny nation of Belize shows a better way

Belize produces some 3,000 barrels of oil per day, a minuscule amount compared to more than 1.5 million barrels per day that the US produces in the Gulf of Mexico alone. And, yet, Belize’s announcement is an important one.

Like most developing countries, Belize relies on its natural resources for its economy. Oil constitutes more than a quarter of its exports. And, yet, thanks to grassroots campaigns, Belizeans were convinced that protecting its coral reefs will be more important to the country, economically, in the long-term.

The CIHL share price is only a tad short of the 30p level distinctively shown on the chart. Banks are falling sharply and like it or not the company is being dragged down.
Few shares to be traded and repeating the words of EK, it can move sharply in either direction and needs patience.

Hard to say what will happen if the Banking sector continues its reversal. Next and only further retraction point on the chart is 27p and with the dividend paid brings it back to just before the xd point.

The company is based in Beckenham. I need to check further though it seems to represent the holdings of: Royce and Associates 4.37%, Gabelli ( Gabelli Multi-Media Trust Inc) (Mario Gabelli), Waterloo Capital Holdings*, Peter Michael Reeder-Gaze, Peter Michael Reeder and Parr Holdings Limited.

The chart is indicating a pull back to the 30p level - ranging 26p to 34p. The market is in turmoil and banks hit quite hard. At 34p larger holders are likely to ride it out as sells of 20,000 to 200,000 shares will be quite damaging. Some might be forced sellers and looking around to sell shares at evens or a profit to cover.

Looking back was a chance to top slice at 42p to 44p. Expecting a bumpy sideways movement from here. Unless an unexpected RNS arrives or equally unexpected favourable court decision.

In these markets we cant blame some for unloading shares to cover positions. £20K invested before the dividend at 32p is worth, at 38p, £27K inc divi. A temptation for some to top slice and lock in profits.
Should work out OK though it may be quite awhile before more news arrives. For the patient. In tight markets moves can be sharp and either way.
