UK retail sales +1% in February estimated -0.5% |
So anyone know what TG Jones will be selling?
Re. The sale of the wh smith high street business to Modella Capital for EV £76m |
Short term movement not a concern.A steady rise into results and trading update will indicate whether Card moves consistently north from here.I have a considerable holding and will not look to skim unless above 1.60 which I believe is achievable this year Trumps tariffs notwithstanding. Good luck all holders, see you at 1.00 +. |
I see it is finding a way to retrace already! |
Juliet 94.66p after doubling up, feeling confident that I may see that in the not too distant future. |
3m and 2.8m trades |
I wonder what triggered this rise? |
The last dividend was 1.2p and the board said this represents 25% of the final dividend so 1.2 x 4 =4.8p - the 1.2 we have already had so the final dividend will be at least 3.6p.But I suspect it will be a lot more than that maybe a return to a special dividend. |
Davius, if your average is below 1.50 comfortably, then nothing to sweat imo. |
Where have you guys been? This has been the most undervalued retail (contender for overall) share for a while. |
Owning the market from end to end is the secret here. They don't get let down in supply or screwed on price from wholesalers/manufacturers of end product. They don't get get screwed down on pricing, cut from supplier list or incur bad debts from large retailers. Enjoy the ride ;) |
PE of 4.5 Divi or 6.5% Bonkers :) |
Nice to see a rise this morning.
I doubled up yesterday, fortuitous timing, though the share price still a way to go to get to my average. |
So the Bots have decided to bet the other way....
Bout Friggin time! |
Two trades of 3M and 2.85M at 84.5p at 9:38 and 9:39 - looks like the market thinks this is an overhang cleared.
Who knows? |
Over 7 Million traded and its only 10 am. |
6 months ago these were 143p a share. And since then profits announced to be at top end of £65-67m estimates range. Market cap £300m. Growth and expansion. Little debt. Go figure? |
At last, the rise begins. GLA. The has a PE of approx 4.5 Nuts! |
Retail sales get announced on Friday, which should be interesting. |
That is a really good 20 minute presentation on why CARD is undervalued. Worth watching. |

Back in for a punt These have to be a bargain at 82p |
Do people remember this broker commentary that lead to the leg up to over 1.40? At the 1.30 range, UBS stated that the company was valued for zero growth, and buyers got excited about the advice that revenue would grow by 5% and margins would fall by 0.2% and now revenue for the past year will have likely grown at over 6% and margins held steady. Plus, there's solid growth for next year's forecast and at such a low valuation that is worth a lot.
The price is roughly 42% cheaper today than it was then. People behave very strangely. |
Agree Paul Scott is sound. I am a paid member now He is quite cautious on many stocks which I like but very bullish on CARD |
Thanks, Napoleon. He's right. There's no reason why this company is this cheap, but it's again a great opportunity. One of the few commentators I have a positive opinion of and not because his opinion chimes with mine, honest. All hail Paul Scott! ;)
He's right. Mr Market is throwing out the good with the bad, and this is a very good company. Also, good point about not trying to time the market but just buy things cheaply. I think most of us have just bought more.
If we hit 1.50, I'll have bagged a 360% price including dividends. Let's hope he's right. Still, you can close to double your money on that price atm. Incredible for a company performing so strongly. Price is absurd.
Would be nice to hear what shop you went to? Moving stores is just part of retail. They opened over 30 net new stores and will do a similar figure next year at least, so they aren't consolidating on the whole. |
