Moonpig trading update is okay. They continue to pump money into technology which Card does not need to do so Card is definitely the bigger profit business. Happy to hold and add on opportunities.

Wondering what’s going to move this further, as in the past good results have only contributed to its demise in share price Hopefully them days are behind us.

Earning this year 15/16p ?Third of profits in first half two thirds in second half .4.5p div second half 2.25p div first half . That's 1/3 rd . I think they may be aggressive with the payout.Pre covid was 7.5p plus 5 to 15p specials And they had 140 million debt . When are half year results ?

Final dividend last year was 4.5p - there was no interim dividend. EPS is c14p

Interims last year were just over 5 p?

I wish that were realistic but given how much of the profits come in the second half of the year and that management has stated a 25/75 interim/final divi split, I am expecting an interim dividend of 1.25p possibly 1.5p

For example, Moonpig EPS is less than 10p and the PE ratio is around 20 leading to a share price today of £2.07. CARD has a lot of unappreciated value still to be rewarded, let alone future growth.

It is EPS that should be driving the share price but still isn’t! The PE ratio is still only about 9 on last year’s EPS of 14p. The average PE for UK Specialist Retailers is 19. So to be in line with its peers CARD share price could easily justify £2 plus. Even more because of the strong cash flow and massive reduction in debt.

Trying to think how good results need to be to move this higher? We know the company is doing well and is well managed, its politics and takeover speculation that’s going to drive this now.

Yeah, think the whole market has one eye eye on the budget and is suppressing things.

Decided to sell a few today, nothing against Card, just that all this talk about Capital Gains Tax made me think I should lighten off slightly. Still have over half for the long haul as they are definitely in other circumstances a screaming buy.

Yes, it’s a similar trading pattern, particularly in the morning, to when Blundy bought in. Plus had the RNS about Jupiter.?? Make your own assumptions.

Seems like there’s a dump and buy almost instantaneously.
