Capita wins £50m contract with City of London Police

Capita plc (`Capita') today announces it has been awarded a contract by the City
of London Police to deliver customer contact and victim engagement services for
the force's new fraud reporting service.

The contract will run from 2024 and is worth approximately £50m over five years,
with the option to extend by a further two years.

The contract will see Capita delivering an end-to-end customer management
process for potential victims of fraud from the moment they contact the service.
The current service receives more than 350,000 calls and 2.3m unique website
visits each year.

Terry on LSE benefits of using capita

However one way to increase productivity is to outsource more government work as I believe this will be more productive, it will solve a number of problems

Strikes, there are far fewer strikes in the private sector

Sick days, far less in private sector

Pension cost, a vast amount of additional cost employing someone in public

Although public sector pay has lagged behind private sector this has not taken into account the additional pension contributions needed for public sector workers and any pay rise is taxed at the person’s highest rate plus NI so the difference in rise of take home pay is less than reported.

Given the recent poor performance of the public sector I am surprised more has not been outsourced especially as it takes the pressure of the government on strikes.

This should be a market where outsourcing companies like Capita are able to increase their business

From Capitalized on LSE

Because it's the best value share of the decade. Why a value share and not a value trap? Easy: earnings are growing, not declining and the share is cheaper than chips.

Ok I ll take your word for it

But no interest to invest for me at the moment

Lots of firms looking at odeys woes and to inflict the same sort of pain that they have posted and boasted about in times past.

Nice to see the boot on other foot

Still a profit on rise from 24 level but ????

Long time since I had a look but my understanding was that Odey had built up to at least 4 %
Will there be a statement from capita

I think there should be considering the obviously close ties to the miscreants

It's another headache for the company

Just my opinion

Watch closely now

Odey rumoured firesale

Tainted by association

The totally innocent partners seemingly unaware of the "odeyous" behaviour of the founder

I seem to recall OAM building a small but not insignificant stake in CPI.
Funny that it's not getting a mention.
Well it has now

Will be interesting few weeks ahead.
