New guy's last two roles were interim where a merger or takeover was happening (linkedin)..
Let's hope he's been brought in for a third!

That's living proof to ALWAYS buy/sell when the CFO buys/sells and ignore ANY buys/sells done by the CEO(who is normally the last person to know about the company's financial health)

Yes, you've got it, Butcher was not up to the task & sadly, nor is the CEO who appointed him.

The tragedy is that the CEO needs a clear heads up from the CFO because non operational adjustments, overhead costs, restructuring, amortisation & write offs are significant. The CEO says he has found the task challenging & reporting what he thought was a good result at YE, bang on expectations, of £275m only to be surprised at market reaction to the audited loss of 63m.

That is understandable as he is closely concerned with in managing his reporting lines, he's not an accountant, & that is where he needs clear warning of non operational costs required in statutory figures.

Q3 they are still reporting to the adjusted basis - all is well at 66m adjusted profit, or it will be, until the audit & then IMO it will be a loss again unless ESS is sold.

To show the contrast between them, Butcher sold 47,000 shares obtained at nil cost reported at £1.04 as the crash started in March. The deal seems to have been placed aware YE result wasn't good, Lewis on the other hand bought 50,000 at 77p at the close of the 5th half way through the crash. Good on him for that, but Butcher could have told him how IIs would value the stock as he seems to have known & it might have helped pick a better course.

Anyway, share price up over 39p

Agree. Also check costain (cost) similar play but infrastructure related. Rebounding very strongly from multi year lows.

Looks like 40p is a minor resistance level - If we CLOSE above this then expect a run up to 50p(is)

The CFO hadn't done-one at the point that prediction was made. We need more clarity on this in my humble opinion.

31-32p is my re-entry point. Looks like the market has discounted the CFO news and I might never get back in. I'm happy taking profits for now. Good luck fellas.

One can only assume Butcher was not up to the task , especially with asset disposals. We need confirmation as to where that process is presently.
