27/6/2003 17:57 | Karl Marx said that, but he was quoting his brother Groucho. Amazing, we get an 80 point drop on the Dow and no-one says anything. Nice bounce off 9000. Bulls will be desperate to keep it above 9000. Martin | cathcartjones
27/6/2003 17:55 | not much pain left now for you hedge | moonblue
27/6/2003 17:49 | i dont want to join a club that would have me as a member ...as karl marx said | moonblue
27/6/2003 17:46 | would seem so, after retracing 50% of fed drop day to 9105. | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 17:39 | dropping fast, that ABC thing is done now? | energyi
27/6/2003 17:36 | I cant handle all the extra boxes etc and im certainly not going to stop using advfn as its more useful than just BB's and far more convinient, its got far greater array of posters and far slicker, so im opting for (Flitration)! GF if its hassle uploading charts(which it is) just post a link | tpaulbeaumont
27/6/2003 17:07 | LOL best not tell anybody I posted to Maestro too then! hidge...the longevity is still in the air..but I see GF has made himself at home ;) is a link to the messages. I guess you will be stopped and offerd to join. Thats when the timing is right on... finally trin effect coming through to price. | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 17:03 | I've applied to join the MSN site, but still think it's a shame we can't carry on here. It's so easy to skip from one thread to another and from the threads to the monitor, charts, news etc. whereas the MSN is going to require separate access and yet another site on the already overloaded faves. Supposing the header carried a list of offenders with an explanation and warning to newcomers that those on it had to be filtered, or at least ignored? Perpetual non-compliants would be filtered themselves. That would clear the thread of arguments and the kind of clutter that's caused the problem. Edit: I also feel the move to MSN is a bit eleventh hour - we're expecting the bovine element to go strangely silent very soon and meantime this is rather playing into their hands. | cymbelline
27/6/2003 17:00 | Cy that where ever it was, was unintentional. Anyway enough of this as it is getting us all nowhere. The final comment I will make is that I am not into picking a fight with anyone PS And Mad4its right -:) | paulismyname
27/6/2003 16:57 | It beats me why so many ppl stay with D4F all I hear is complaints. I'm with Fins and quite content with their service. | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 16:52 | Muregis how do i suss out this msn thing? | ![]() hedge66
27/6/2003 16:45 | We,ve allready got a lurkers thread. It's called D4F. You post and eff all happens, then you get a requote. | ![]() ohojim
27/6/2003 16:42 | Trust me luci I want to let you in, eventhough you are abit of a lurker :) (I omitted my vote from the level pegging comment above). LOL I have a great Idea I can see it now..the lurkers set up their own MSN community. ROFL what a great Board that would be. (meant as genuinely humorous comment..its the parodies I like best!). | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 16:39 | But Paul, what 'appears' to escape you and annoys the others is that this is a SHORTERS' thread, and those who set it up and make the majority of the contributions want it kept for ideas for going short. There are squillions of other ADVFN threads where your ideas for going long would be warmly welcomed, but neither this nor the SELL thread are among them and there's no possible way you can remain in ignorance of that. And as I said earlier, I did have a little sympathy for you until I saw you following GF from one thread to another the other day. You don't argue yourself, but imo that move was calculated to provoke argument. | cymbelline
27/6/2003 16:36 | BLIND ECONOMISTS now posted on the MSN messageboard Thnx for the invite, Bri | energyi
27/6/2003 16:32 | Simple really, who says its my private clique? (except you random). I gotta say I have hardly ever seen you post anything and pop all of a sudden stroppy pops at me. Can't say I'm impressed. "moregas - 27 Jun'03 - 12:33 - 2139 of 2207 edit dunno moon I have put this to the members on the site. Its a group thing..I just push the button. Once we are up and running we should be OK.." So far it seems level pegging we keep it open and chuck out provocative posters or have a small community of well known posters. There's nothing being 'missed' in there, and I want to get the ground rules sorted before I go throught he next batch of applicants. Thats all. | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 16:29 | hey mg, I apologise for my strop, as you must have been overburdened with replies. I just thought I sent the email early on, and saw you talk about how regular posters only would be accepted, and jumped to a conclusion. my mistake. | random
27/6/2003 16:24 | Cym my style is to debate not get personal. There are no absolute rights or wrongs, and all are entitled to an opinion providing it's presented in a balenced manner. I don't like to keep giving examples becuase I do not see the point in stating what happend x number of posts and threads ago but here is one. I said IMHO go long on the dow at 7500 (via Diamonds) and hold DYOR etc. I did in stages locking in profits and I sold out at 8500. 5000 points too early but hey its a profit. Very few here agreed with me despite the debate and reasons I offered. So there is your example, 10,000 of them. | paulismyname
27/6/2003 16:22 | maybe the mail has not arrived. I assumed no mail = rejection. | random
27/6/2003 16:20 | random why don't you read the thread rather than coming out with stroppy comments? Thanking you kindly. | ![]() moregas
27/6/2003 16:19 | Is what you are proposing more open than mg's private group? If it is, I am all for it. My belief is communities should at least invite people in, before rejecting them! | random
27/6/2003 16:17 | Random, have you actually received a refusal or haven't you received an email accepting you yet? I haven't had one, but took it that there'd been a lot of applications and it was taking a while to get through them all. Unless I've been refused too......:-( | cymbelline |
