27/6/2003 17:14 | Bri - sorted charts out yet? | tpaulbeaumont
27/6/2003 17:12 | Brian, the msn idea is good and allows for specific stock/index chat using different threads. Looking at k's pad it difficult to remember what it looked like when it started, its developed into a cracking site, yours could do the same. Its not the chat about long or short (even gf will say if he thinks it going up, he may stand aside or go with it, his choice) Its the nutters, sickos and the "its going up" without any reasoning behind the shout that annoy the traders here. PIMN is not the root cause of this, we were all happy with him posting a few months ago, even if we disagreed with him (I do!) he has even had the odd short suggestion. I am happy to chat to a reasoned bull, as long as they realise the leaning of the thread, trouble is there are too many n/s/igu sitting around with nothing better to do than stir it up. They don't even realise that most who post here actually trade long and short. Stupidity. I believe both this thread and the msn site could survive easily along side each other, remember DAY? cheers | mick p
27/6/2003 17:00 | gf, what do we do if moregas does not want us in the club? I am sure a lot of people have been upset by moregas's exclusivity. Sure, if people cause difficulties, kick 'em off. But this current system of having a very private club reinforces the feeling of a clique. | random
27/6/2003 16:57 | the rule of thumb i've had wrt this thread recently is ..if there's lots of new posts..there a fight been going on. | moregas
27/6/2003 16:51 | Hughey7..that wasn't the only reason Goodfella filtered you, and for those same reasons: hughey7 - 27 Jun'03 - 16:31 - 2190 of 2192.....Filtered. Paulismyname, I believe you're largely responsible for this - GF had hughey and hvs filtered from an early stage. You took me in with your "how can I possibly be causing offence?" approach and I actually felt quite sorry for you.....then I noticed you suddenly posting exactly the same stuff that you'd repeatedly been told caused offence on the other bear thread he uses. Not a thread you normally use yourself, I checked. So, deliberate provocation. Thanks very much, if you think you can produce a contribution that even begins to match those of the posters you've annoyed off the thread, I'd be interested to see it. Edit...sorry GF, you nipped in when I wasn't looking. Thought you'd already gone. | cymbelline
27/6/2003 16:43 | >> tp - i started shorting BAY again yesterday 27 June 2003 EU to start open skies talks with US The European Union has reached an agreement to begin 'comprehensive air service negotiations' with the US from September 2003. The talks mark the first time the US will be able to discuss air service agreements (ASAs) with Europe as a whole, rather than with individual countries. This development follows a 5 June decision by the EU Transport Council to grant the EC a mandate to negotiate ASAs with the US on behalf of all 15 member states. Currently, international aviation is governed by treaties between pairs of countries. This means that US airlines flying to France operate under a different set of rules from when they fly to the UK. Some European countries have bilateral agreements with the US that allow almost unlimited transatlantic traffic, while others have far more restrictions, in particular the UK, Ireland, Spain and Greece. At a November 2002 hearing in the European Court of Justice, the Commission successfully argued that bilateral deals broke the Treaty of Rome by giving airlines from signatory countries rights that were not shared by their competitors from elsewhere in the EU. EU Transport Commissioner, Loyola de Palacio, said today: 'An aviation agreement between the EU and the US would set the model for the rest of the world. These negotiations provide an opportunity to achieve fundamental reform of this sector that we should not waste.' The first meeting will take place in Washington at the end of September, with further talks to be held in Brussels in December. | ttg100

27/6/2003 16:37 | What's wrong with filtering if there are certain posters one chooses to ignore? Anyway, it's ape's thread and I'm pretty sure he'll want to keep it running. I know he realises it provides an invaluable learing tool for many, many people. | luci
27/6/2003 16:36 | please dont confuse my confidence for arrogance, and id rather be loud than AINSOPH the twisted, bitter cretin and scurge of Britain anyway, the charts delayed... | tpaulbeaumont

27/6/2003 16:16 | Ian...Sorry...you know me and my typing errors (As Griss and Hodge know too well :)) nothing stroppy at all inyour post. I know you better than that. You would't be stroppy. It was this I was referring to "random - 27 Jun'03 - 14:28 - 2163 of 2183 thanks for not accepting me moregas it was really kind of you." Ian IF the site takes off Ian56 there's no reason you would be unwelcome. And as GF says..its a breeze to post a chart direct from your PC. | moregas
27/6/2003 16:13 | Paulismyname, what has that got to do with shorting? Is this the Shorters thread for short ideas or not? | stu31
27/6/2003 16:09 | And i mean it, both times!! | yardie71
27/6/2003 16:08 | 4-6 months ago , this thread was fantastic . Sure it's descended into nothing more than passing comment , but surely as a contrarian indicator , it has proved hugely useful . I'm sure it will return to better times again - and so prove the timewasters wrong in the process. As with Ian , I'm being selfish , but the longer it continues , the more everyone will gain | baa
27/6/2003 16:07 | I am another lurker on here, who cannot be at the pc all day. The thread can be read by me at my leisure, and i may act on some of what i read. On MSN alot of info would be missed if i am not at my pc. I may not contribute to the thread, but i do put money into the market, like many other lurkers and this thread is invaluable. I thought it was all about sharing ideas and knowledge (or lack of them)and about making some money. | yardie71 |
