27/11/2018 10:21 | They're beginning to annoy me now. Their website FAQs: Do cakes taste different because they do not contain eggs? No they do not! In fact the amount of egg used in cakes is usually small and its purpose is largely to add to the structure. If you can taste the egg in a normal cake, chances are there is too much egg in it. Generally people do not eat cakes for the taste of egg. So far, no-one tasting our sample has been able to notice the absence of eggs. My Victoria Sponge is equal quantities of egg, butter, sugar and flour. The quality of the eggs is crucial, it's not just structural, and they certainly add to the taste. | verulamium
27/11/2018 09:57 | I really don't get this. The target market is obviously Hindus - I don't know if there are other religions who eat dairy but not egg? Considering how delicious proper Indian sweets are, why would they sink to the levels of pretend Western style cake? There's also the relatively small allergy market. They're entirely missing the fast growing vegan market, as all their cakes have cream in. Most of their stores are in largely poor areas, which tend to have large student populations (which is where you're likely to find vegans) but they're entirely missing out on their custom. They're obviously not above selling artificial chemical muck to people with no taste buds, so they'd might as well get rid of the real cream in some of their cakes and complete the job. Obviously everything seems to be going great guns, but I really don't get it. I'd buy shares in Ambala if they were listed though. | verulamium
27/11/2018 09:35 | I was idly wondering how CBOX make an eggless cake. Lots of chemicals, it seems. Their cheesecake is worse. Cheesecake doesn't even have egg in it, and it certainly shouldn't have this muck in. Orangutans are being left homeless for this rubbish: Whole Milk Powder, Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Modified Maize Starch, Cream Powder (Milk), Whey Powder (Milk), Palm Kernal and Fully Hydrogenated Palm Kernal , Rapeseed Oil, Skimmed Milk Powder, Palm Oil, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Cream Cheese Powder (Milk), Emulsifiers (E471 (from plant source), E472b, E472a, E472e), Sour Cream Powder (Milk), Acidity Regulator (E270, E327, E450iii), Milk Protein, Stabilisers (E404, E412, E415, E450iii, E339, E450ii, E410, E451), Flavouring, Coconut Oil, Antioxidant(E304). I won't be trying any soon. | verulamium
27/11/2018 08:58 | Jumped on board this morning. Been a CAKE customer for the last few years, and love their product. I didn't know they where AIM listed until yesterday. They offer a niche product(eggless cakes) but there is no reason why they can't succeed in the wider market with their 1-hour personalised cake service. The share price has held up well despite the recent wider market turbulence. | smerch1468
27/11/2018 07:21 | And in the Mail this morning. I particularly like this bit:Like-for-like sales rose 4.4%, while online sales rose 86% to £1.99million. | barry potter
27/11/2018 06:55 | And a mention in the Telegraph this morning. | barry potter
26/11/2018 20:55 | A brief mention here, which made me chuckle: {Registration required} Small Cap Value Report (Mon 26 Nov 2018) - FLYB, SND, CER, KNOS, IGP, CBOX Monday, Nov 26 2018 by Paul Scott | martywidget
26/11/2018 20:48 | William-Quinn in isolation that might be misleading. Just as a quick and simple example: here you have the one off cost of the IPO which was near £600k. | bluechimp1
26/11/2018 18:33 | going to be on sky news ian king live so shares should be up tomorrow | johnyee 7
26/11/2018 17:39 | Thanks bluechimp1, all my examples include tax. Very confusing for me lol. | william_quinn
26/11/2018 17:34 | William_quinn - looks pretty standard to me. Just allows you to measure the operating performance without factoring in other bits. | bluechimp1
26/11/2018 15:46 | bluechimp, any idea why they start the cash flow statement with the pretax figure? | william_quinn

26/11/2018 13:17 | Yes, excellent exposure. Surprised by the muted share price response to today's update actually. | barry potter
26/11/2018 11:27 | Good to see this featured on the BBC live business feed today | bluechimp1
