I had a look at some of the Byotrol products on 'Target' website over the weekend. The site itself wasn't particularly user-friendly, (not Byotrol's fault of course) a search for Byotrol only bringing up three products initially. The products themselves have had a few excellent reviews (though some were from people given free samples) but I was then presented with 'similar alternative products', which was a long list, several of which were cheaper, in what appears a very crowded space.

I think one of the issues with buying a range like this is that all the manufacturers make similar claims (in some cases more tenable than others probably!) 'long lasting aroma', 'clears 99%' or whatever of bacteria, 'lasts longer' etc etc, so unless you're a scientifically minded customer, the tendency might often be to go for the cheapest, on the principle that 'it'll do the job fine'. Lazy perhaps, but just how it plays out a lot of the time imho..

Also two of the products were only available online with shopping orders over $25, and the other could not be ordered online (as opposed to out of stock).

So I can conclude from that it is a very tough market indeed to make inroads in especially as the big retailers seem to adopt often a 'trial' first, which in Byotrol's case does seem to be a rather elongated process with Target

Current trading in BYOT shares suggests(to me)that the double bottom is now "in".
Additionallly the high volumes could well be indicative of ......?

Anyway,the 1.65p bid is a big improvement.

1gw,

Why is it surprising, 1gw?

Distinct lack of clarity here...

There are questions over the accounts...

There are questions over the lack of 2nd retailer that they said they were close to announcing 6 months ago..

There are questions over whether the trails at Target have been successful...

Distinct lack of clarity....

Plenty of reasons there...

Good to see another private investor declare a stake, but I would prefer to see one or two well-regarded institutions take a position. I find the disconnect between the confidence of the management (and the progress evidenced in the reports) and the lack of obvious institutional support at these prices surprising.

Only a double bottom if it turns up from here, isn't it? Otherwise it may just be a point along the downtrend.

The BYOT chart is displaying a classically pure double bottom.

What an opportunity !

Trader,
"That print has been marked as cancelled"

I said 'massive 1m sell', ie single 1m sell..

If you look at today's trades... 3 x 1m sells, 2 x cancelled, leaving 1 x 1m sell

1gw,

BBs exist for investors/potential investors to discuss opinions and company/industry newsflow... It's a shame you and your mates use them to pump/dump and are determined that readers must believe you and your mates...

Your post of 30th, 4 votes up. Not in top posts.
oh the multiple ids.. ;-)

A painful event looking at the shareprice chart these days.
<...>

What about your mate Shroder?
Are you still in cahoots with Shroder and the rest of the gang... Is the direct communication still more effective?? Looking at his selections GBO(bust), GKP(4000p to 200p), blnx/rthm/trmr(2350p to 120p), Byot etc etc it doesn't look like it, does it? Have you and your mats grasped the importance of reading company/industry newsflow???

;-)

Somewhat wary of doing this, but if it helps, I can confirm that I do now talk fairly frequently to shroder about blinkx and other investments that one or both of us may hold. As it seems very difficult to have a sensible and balanced conversation on these blinkx bulletin boards about common investing questions of interest, we have reverted to the more time-consuming but ultimately more effective method of direct communication for some discussions."

Shroder=Orslega I don't think so and I will have a bit more money on it than BARKBOO

Pinky pants - can I have £250 that Shroder is not Orslega as well?

1gw,
"You seem to fail to grasp the concept of investing in high-risk stocks,"

You and your mates seem to fail to grasp the importance of reading company/industry newsflow, rthm, Byot and TLY, haven't you 1gw...

My point is simple, true to form when things go wrong, you and your mates then suggest that it was somehow predictable - just like you did on rthm and here....
Just like your statement above compared to your pumping suggesting that the company is doing the right thing...

Sensible posters adjust their holdings according to company/industry newsflow..

so on 3/3 shares, you have been completely wrong.... Not very good at reading and understanding company/industry newsflow, are you 1gw?.

Always best for ALL readers to read the company/industry newsflow and form their own opinion, rather than a gang with multiple ids, eh...

Call me stupid but I am a little confused. A man who forensically goes through accounts has ended up investing big in a company which is so dodgy it has qualified accounts. You could add in RHTM/TRMR which have appeared equally dodgy over many years. And he talks about the benefits of high risk investments but gives a much harder time to a solid relatively low risk company with massive potential. There is so many holes in this approach you could drive a bus through it.

Very strange.....

You seem to fail to grasp the concept of investing in high-risk stocks, stt, especially in microcaps. They are by their nature highly risky. What I hope when I invest is that by spreading my investments sufficiently widely, the successes will outweigh the failures. That may mean one multibagging for several that either fail altogether or steadily decline.

For the avoidance of any doubt, however, I remain happy with the business progress evidenced in Byotrol's reports since I have been invested. I think they've done exactly the right thing with the US, in terms of balancing commitment of resources against progress with the product and now it just depends whether they can achieve a good partnership deal leveraging the data they've achieved from the trial.

I am also happy with the Medimark "standalone" progress, which evidences continued growth. While failure to achieve synergies more quickly is disappointing, it is better than ending up in litigation with the Medimark sellers as a result of integrating too quickly and being unable to agree on measurement of earn-out as a result.

On the Byotrol-heritage side of the business, the recent deal with SC Johnson looks good. The Solvay actizone arrangement appears to be relatively low visibility at the moment, but holds out considerable potential for the future.

I am disappointed with the fiasco on the accounts (i.e. delay and qualified opinion). An own goal, but perhaps a result of the lean (i.e. low cost) organisation byotrol runs and the changing demands of auditors as a result of recent high-profile apparent failures of the audit process to spot problems (Pat Val to name but one).

The point on institutional ownership is the same one I made on Totally plc. Institutional selling can develop a momentum of its own and when more than one is seen to be selling in a company with a declining shareprice, it can put pressure on other institutions to consider reducing as well.

So on balance I remain optimistic that this one will come good which is why I added recently.

Nothings changed for months, has it 1gw?

True to form, you and your mates post that everything's good and then when things look like they're not going to plan, you post as if you're now somehow disappointed... Cop out, eh!

Look at the company newsflow...

Trials of supplying Target in US.. After more than a year, still not rolled out, still a trial.
Byot announced they were close to a 2nd retailer 5 months ago, still no news on that front.
No evidence that MS is beating expectations.
Questions over the accounts and delay in producing those accounts.
