Not necessarily so. BMN will pay the SPV for the electricity at the going rate. They have indicated that the rates are similar to their current ESKOM rates. The saving will be via our 40% share of the project less Mikhail’s 16% share of BE.

According to the South African Department of Energy, “Most areas in South Africa average more than 2 500 hours of sunshine per year, with an average solar-radiation level range of between 4.5 and 6.5kWh/m2per day.” This, coupled with the solar revolution the world markets, as well as South Africa, are currently experiencing, represents a huge opportunity for the South African market to take advantage of!

What isn’t clear from the charging of the VRFB is whether the solar PV charges the battery twice or whether it’s a combination of solar during the day and cheaper grid power at night.

You’ll find the answer you are looking for by reading the RNS I have just referenced. You’ll find the VRFB is charged and discharged twice a day. Once during the day when electricity prices and demand is at its peak and once in the evening.

At the time the system would provide a maximum of 7% of Vametco’s energy needs. That’s increased to just over 10% without any explanation from the company. It could be that they have reduced their energy use since the failure to grow production would naturally mean less energy is consumed. The system hasn’t changed unless they have made it more efficient?

Thoughts on this?.So if the battery is charged only once a day the potential saving per year is 982,000 USD. If the battery charges twice per day then the potential saving is 1.22M USD

This is a classic RNS from BE dated 27/3/2019:

I won’t paste it here. It’s too comical. Check out the outlandish claims from Mikhail. None of which have been delivered.

PATP Yes I know and I also know that, despite what they say, the sustaining costs are quite high and they've just negotiated a deal with 6% annual increases on the wage bill. Also, they pretty much have consistently fallen below their guidelines for production. They need another Vanadium price spike to get Fortune et al and us investors out of the mire they've driven into.
