1347. There is also a lifetime royalty payable that reduces net revenues every ton.

As we realists quite rightly noticed and called out the signs were all there that this project was delayed again. No news, no updates on the financial closure and no capex assigned for 2022.

That’s the point I have been making about this project as a pilot for other minigrids. Fair enough it is just a pilot, but unless they have a need to time shift the energy generated from the PV during the day (like in a domestic property when people are out working during the day, but come home to use the energy in the evening) then it is a pointless waste of money adding batteries. BMN will use electricity 24 hours a day with a bias towards daylight use. So their 10% will or can be used during the day without the need to time shift it to the evening.

For similar operations their first priority is power generation from PV for use during the day. Only if they see a business case and have the room will they double the size of their PV array to generate and store energy for nighttime use. That is a massive financial commitment to make.

For utilities like ESKOM I can definitely see the need for batteries because they generate lots of electricity from multiple sources that is wasted. Batteries will help peak shave and time shift electricity that would otherwise be wasted.

So they finally confirm that the minigrid is going to be another year delayed. Thanks for telling us Fortune.

Abengoa weren’t mentioned so it seems they have been dropped due to their financial problems I would guess. I would suggest this was one of the reasons for the delay and while not Mikhail’s fault directly he chose them.

Then because of all the other delays we’ve been forced to have the Vanadium processed into electrolyte elsewhere. One of Mikhail’s value add links in the chain lost to others.

To try and prove another link in the value chain they are paying themselves a fee to BE!

Mikhail personally gets a cut from his 16% shareholding in BE and another 16% from his shareholding in VRFB-H via BE.

As pointed out previously we shareholders are funding Mikhail’s 16%. In 7 years he has invested no cash and taken a salary all at our expense. This project is again funded by BMN shareholders while he creams off his 16% by way of his involvement in the various businesses held under the BE umbrella.

Let’s not lose site that this ‘fantasticR17; news is years and years late and is what it’s says on the tin, a pilot project that doesn’t deliver real tangible revenue that will drive the share price anytime soon.

I can understand if you are off-grid or generating large amounts of your energy mix as renewables why storage is important . For industrial mining operations why would they buy a storage battery when it's not required ,? Can someone explain it to me please ?

If that's the big unveil panic ...a minimum 6 month delay ...they where meant to be closing out finance end 2021 and it was a given according to media last year that it would happen ...but given only $0.9 mill capex they believed that it would be 100 % financed so it's clearly not only delayed but also less than anticipated .....that's the reality. Late and smaller but better late than never as they say ....

Just reflecting on rns yesterday the main take away is that stage 1 requires c $32' million and will take 2 years and is a requirement before any actual expansion. Realistically that's it for expansion then for the next 2 to 3 years minimum probably more .

Arc share price angel will be busy redoing their bits they had considerably less capex in their models but bmn told everyone $24 mill would take vametco to 4200 MTV ...now it's c $80 million to 3500 MTV ...so some significant adjustments coming ....

"It is also very encouraging to note that the majority of the capital invested in the mini-grid project has come from sources outside of Bushveld Minerals. This not only proves the attractiveness of the business case for long-duration energy storage using vanadium, but also demonstrates investor interest in the market in the roll-out of VRFB technology."

or......BMN has no cash.

Be are taking a c £287 k fee. I presume this is the business model.hopefully to re list be away from bmn to stop draining capex . Quite why you need a battery to store energy over night which can be used in the day is losing me as it's only 10% of bmns energy mix...??? It's kind of a big stumbling block for commercial sense imo. Why will other mining operations with similar renewable energy percentages be interested if there is no actual need to store the energy ??

ABSA Relationship Banking has approved a ZAR64 million (approximately US$4.1 million) loan to part fund the construction of the mini-grid project.

Sceptical about hyosung being vfrb as when they tendered they hadnt signed the Mou which was in April so seems unfathomable that they could win a tender without access to the tech they where offering?? Doesn't add up to me . Also nothing from.invinity other than the Mou rns ...surely they would want to inform the market i think their total installations over 15 years is less than the size of this project and yet nothing ??? I've got shares in invinity so happy to be proven incorrect..invinty share price doesn't indicate their involvement ...
