The Nexeo Solutions shareholding relates to this case filed by a subsidiary of Burford in the Delaware Chancery court on Thursday:

Looks like it's a complex strategies case similar to the eHi Car Services investment, i.e. take a shareholding in the company and then sue it for selling itself on the cheap. See page 28 of the last annual report for context.

Not all are dependent on HTB - but then those like Barckley (excellent company - terrible market) aren’t likely to see much growth - how many £1m flats will be sold to foreigners under Corbyn

there’s also legacy risks on leasehold sales coming in to bite

Agree on balance sheet - they are far better capitalised than they were last cycle - don’t think any of the majors will go bust or need a rights issue

But equally cannot see how they can generate much growth given political outlook

New large planning applications in London under Khan has basically stopped - with Comrade C in power that’s likely to be true for the rest of the country

Corbyn and HTB risks are well known. Balance sheets are very good/excellent and some house builders are not that dependant on HTB anyway.

All stocks have risks. It is just a case of managing them properly. ;)

Cable as in GBP/USD exchange rate

I don’t listen to you last October but I did half my exposure to Bur and go into Mano - so quite pleased with myself :)

Good luck with housebuilders when Corbyn pulls help to buy and acts against “profiteering” land banking - and cracks down on social housing provision avoidance

Cable's collapse? Don't know what you are implying by that?

Residential house builders are doing very well. Nice capital gains on all of my holdings in this sector and most are yielding 8-10%. What does Burford yield? LOL

Burford Special Brew is coming along quite nicely!

ROFLMAO!

Should have listened to Minerve around last October. But you didn't. Never mind eh? LOL

Minerva - how’s those undervalued UK cyclicals coming along - wonder how much more undervalued they can become when the red flag flies over Downing Street

Loving cable’s collapse at the moment

Does anyone have info on this SEC filing by Burford Capital in respect of a company called Nexeo Solutions?

I have seen that this company was acquired by Univar in March ot this year:

I was talking about the IRR's of a strategy rather than a single case so the efficiency of the reinvestment of funds would also be an influence.

Ladies and gentlemen of this board,

Does the current share price of BUR reflect fair value or if it doesn't, what is a 'fair' trading range in 'normal' times, (i.e. without the current US/China trade war bullsh*t) if of course there is some semblance of normal to come.

Many people seem to think £20 to £25

All thoughts welcomed

So leading on from that the IRR for the 1st 5 Complex Strategies seems perfectly reasonable at 24%.

bgo - I suppose it depends on the end allocations. The current investment portfolio on page 25 of the AR suggests that $320.9m (12.8% of the $2.5bn) will relate. to Recourse/complex strategies. (14.5% of BS investments). Hopefully future commitment allocations to complex strategies will seek to significantly redress the intended balance.
