"BT customers in need of some help might be happy to hear this latest news from the broadband supplier. The telecoms firm has just revealed that every call that is now made to its service centres will be answered in the UK and never overseas."

BT reminds me of Telewest (another of my failures) spent a pile of money laying all the cables then admin! only to be picked up for next to nothing by no doubt a prearranged buyer. After a couple of ownership changes I now PAY THEM nearly £50 a month for my broadband etc. makes me sick but that's how it is :-/
Keep laying the new wires BT and building up the debt!

Dividend re-invested with a yield of 9.73% that's just crazy. Even if the dividend is cut by half it's still a good dividend.

not my finest buy.

the problems we are having with BT at work do not fill me with confidence.

DMF, the dividend in uncovered.

It's not surprising people may be unsure on this as
there have been numerous articles citing dividend cover.

Confusion may arise if you do not allow for the pension
recovery plan.

If the dividend Was covered, net debt would Not be increasing.

Cannot ascertain if share price has support at this level, or if it has further to drop, guess this all depends an newsflow emanating from BT !

Perhaps BT should be 'broken up' the sum of the parts may have more value than the whole ?

Careful, CNA and RMG have both announced a dividend cut going forward. Those figuresyou give are historical-based yields.

There tends to be a correlation with high dividend yields and dividend cover

In BT's case dividend cover i understand is 1.5 ....ideally 2 is safer

Also 'flags' a warning that dividend may be cut !

Looking at these political companies BT/CNA/RMG I was wondering why BT'S dividend yield was so low.

BT. 9.6%
CNA. 14.1%
RMG. 14.3%

not bad compared with 1% from the building society.
Are these dividend yields trying to tell us something?
