01/10/2018 17:19 | Well today is the day Openreach became a limited company, would of thought it may of had some comment or affected the shareprice. | spendalot
01/10/2018 16:00 | Many thanks for your humble opinion in recapping your horrendous experience, daijavu, it’s always nice to see a new poster on the BT board and I’m sure many people will be interested in reading what you have said. You state that you don’t actually hold any shares in the company, so can I be bold and ask if you hold a short position in them? | eaaxs06

01/10/2018 15:27 | Another shorter warning people not to buy. Thanks but no thanks with reference to your advice. | eodfire
30/9/2018 08:17 | Yeah! Yeah! You guys are right but I didn't know it was that simple. I found out when I looked on utube after I had asked BT for a new SIM and they had disconnected my old one. I feel a right plonker over that. But, hey, it is always the case that something is simple when you know how to do it. My point was and still is that BT share are suffering because the company have diversified too quickly into areas where there are already established competitors and they have not paid enough attention to their core business where they are losing customers due to customer dissatisfaction. If you look at the share price chart it is typical of one where there is another profit warning looming. The pattern happens when a company is in trouble, has been losing revenue and iis and other large holders quietly sell tranches before the big drop. Because of that the share price trends downward for six months or more before the crash. Then naive pi's fill their boots with shares in anticipation of a quick recovery. Then comes the rub. Because iis and other large shareholders cannot easily sell off all their holdings in large amounts they are still left with large numbers of shares that they continue to sell off in tranches after the crash. That results in the share price continuing to decline for up to a year after the big drop. Just trying to be helpful and save you money by sharing what I know. Is BT too big for that scenario? I don't know. All I know is that they are having problems and are getting rid of Patterson. | daijavu

29/9/2018 14:04 | You can just cut the sim card to size. Very easy really. | wageslave
29/9/2018 13:35 | Oh my god!!!!! Sell your shares cos this guys SIM card doesn't fit his phone......end of days huh? | mbmiah
29/9/2018 08:43 | A cautionary tale for BT customers and shareholders. I moved house a few months ago and transferred my bt landline and SIM only mobile phone accounts to my new address. All seemed to go well until I bought an iphone a fortnight ago. My old SIM was too big to fit into my iphone so I got BT to send me one that would fit. I am currently waiting for my fourth SIM card to turn up. So far two have gone to my old address and the one that did get to me would not work. When I asked why not I was told that it was because it could not be a BT simcard because it did not appear on their records. Even though it was clearly a BT simcard and came in BT packaging with my BT account details on the BT form that came with it. In the meantime BT have disconnected the simcard in my old phone so I have been without a mobile for a fortnight. I have asked why they did that but have not yet received an explanation. I have submitted a formal complaint. I was considering also writing to the CEO to alert him to the the poor management of his company until I discovered that BT are in trouble because of his poor management and he is leaving because of it. I was considering moving to Vodafone until I realised that they are in even worse trouble than BT. I am now considering my options. I invest in shares but, based on my experience as a customer and my subsequent research into BT from an investment perspective, I am unlikely to include BT shares in my portfolio. Certainly not at this moment. Not until they have sorted themselves out. I suspect that both the company's and my problems stem from not enough attention having been paid to BT's core business. | daijavu
28/9/2018 08:06 | So no date on Henry then! | colonelgrim
28/9/2018 06:57 | Yep. That one will sit in the background for a while. It's a longer term investment against a curly market. Let's see over time. Silver is at its highest ratio to gold in 30 yrs, often the unloved turn around at some point so time will tell. Still on the upside my BT investment is ticking up nicely. Buying BT 4 or 5 months ago was seen as a bad idea, but I took the chance then. | hamhamham1
27/9/2018 17:02 | Ref FRES: tip by hamhamham1, remind me not to buy the same insurance policies - it's down 6% in the past 2 days since your recommendation. Good spot though for a short. | thehearse

27/9/2018 14:38 | It's like saying you can have my job cos you are better than me.....which GP will not say. | mbmiah
27/9/2018 14:37 | GP is not the first or will be the last CEO to stay with a company until a replacement is found. This is simply the Boards decision, so no blame should be put on GP. Where does it say GP will have a decision on his replacement bye the way? | toon1966
27/9/2018 14:20 | Let alone getting involved with the selection of his successor! | fhmktg
27/9/2018 11:40 | A touch harsh, Colonel, but I take your point. Personally, I think he should have gone as soon as it was announced, just like anyone else that has been sacked by the company. | eaaxs06 |
