24/9/2018 18:50 | mbm. I just don't think DT would do both at the same time - too much to handle, I think it will be one or the other. On another subject: Honkers (then China?) property market getting found out? | hamhamham1
24/9/2018 18:20 | Didn't realise DT still owned T- mobile. TM and sprint is a merger nevertheless. | mbmiah
24/9/2018 15:28 | The only one thing against DT buying BT is the fact that DT are over committing themselves with the US Sprint deal, I dont think there will be any cash left over after that. But if the Sprint deal is blocked by Trump then BT becomes more likely. Oops broke my rule - doh! | hamhamham1
24/9/2018 10:57 | I’m surprised to say it, but I completely agree with Monty, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Deutsche Telecom will be interested in BT, given the current political and economical uncertainty’s that currently exists. | eaaxs06
24/9/2018 10:31 | gretel No chance, not with the uncertainty of Brexit. | montyhedge
24/9/2018 10:28 | Well whatever figure DT had in mind to pay for BT years ago it’s significantly lower now! | pacemaker1000
24/9/2018 08:52 | Wht next year, why not now before a new CEO is appointed? | toon1966
24/9/2018 08:44 | Talking to a big wig employee yesterday, he thinks Deutsche Tel. will be making an offer for BT next year . | gretel1921
24/9/2018 08:41 | ham, don't commit yourself, just leave your options open @-) | sicker
24/9/2018 08:24 | BT needed a big hitter, disappointing. My thoughts kitchen sink, cut dividend blame last management. Gavin Patterson was ok, shame Italy happened on his watch. | montyhedge
24/9/2018 08:11 | Last post today only ;) | hamhamham1
24/9/2018 08:10 | Retiring? From posting here? | hamhamham1
24/9/2018 08:08 | Are you 'retiring' Ham? | toon1966
24/9/2018 08:03 | Ok very last post. The new appointment will be well received by the market if it's the old worldpay boss I tbink. | hamhamham1
24/9/2018 07:55 | US companies take advantage of weak pound to buy UK firms - | toon1966
24/9/2018 07:50 | How this for a gain of 7000% speaking to someone over the weekend, they bought a signed Banksy print for 150 pounds of Girl with ballon in 2003, Banksy sold 150 signed prints, just sold for 105,000 thousand pounds.Perhaps we should be buying Banksy signed prints, lol. | montyhedge
24/9/2018 06:35 | Well Corbyn bottled it. The vote this week will only be for a second referendum IF there isn't an upcoming election. And Theresa May will call an election if there is a stale mate in getting her deal through parliament. So that also means that all the remainers won't vote for Labour in an election as Labour wouldn't offer a second referendum if they already got their election, Labour will just want to renegotiate a leaving deal with the EU. Surely that makes it more likely May would call an election? Or she had better get in with a Canada ++ deal pronto! Sorry for posting my thoughts on this here but I really think this stuff is so important that it will affect BTs share price. I will not post again today :) | hamhamham1
23/9/2018 18:17 | Kitchen sinking was done when Jan du Plessis joined last November. I somewhat doubt that he would countenance another round when things are starting to look up. | ianood
23/9/2018 15:39 | Monty's just a wind-up merchant or maybe he has a terrible memory. Monty was one of the people calling for Gavin's head.... | toon1966
23/9/2018 15:01 | looks like a quality appointment, and the city like him too | kmann
23/9/2018 13:14 | STFU shorter scum ! | tradejunkie2
23/9/2018 12:43 | Be careful who you wish for, when a CEO been given the boot, Gavin I thought was just getting it right, the new guy normally comes in and does a kitchen sink job, will he maintain the high dividend? | montyhedge
23/9/2018 11:49 | Patterson was the head man at Global Services before moving to CEO, so his thinking would already have been tainted. Rumour has it, that appointment was the reason Liv Garfield moved off to Severn Trent, as she fancied the being the BT top dog. | eaaxs06
23/9/2018 11:18 | Interesting to read the chairman's comments that he doesn't want a Telecoms veteran rather someone who can provide a fresh pair of eyes on the business. So he's basically wanting another Patterson... | smurfy2001 |
