hamhamham1 - do you read what you actually type? Because if you did you would see the word 'extra' in your post... "plus an extra 26p in dividends over that time frame." Bye the way, don't listen to Montyhedge.

BT hit a low after figures but they were better than I thought they would be. BT the most hated stock in the Footsie. Coming months selling assets, mobile mask 1.5 billion pounds, loads of interest according to Telegraph.Speculation what will Deutsche Telekom do with their 14% stake when the embargo ends, bid or merge.245p - 255p new trading range coming.

I am not suggesting a divi increase I just added up the Aug18 10.5p, the Dec18 5p and the Aug19 10.5p to get 26p.

I'm not foolish enough to estimate/predict SP's..... you may want to look at Gavin's forward guidance as I don't see any mention of increasing the dividend in the next couple of years. Suggest you take a close look at the next few quarterly updates to see if Gavin has got it right.

I think it will get there or even at half that rate it will be over 300p inc the dividends hopefully.
We each have different views which is OK, let's see in 15 months whether it's gets there, what's your estimated price in 15 months? (so we can compare)

Just out of interest what do think it's going to take to get the share price back to 350p and the extra 26p in dividends (trying not to laugh hysterically)?

Over the past 30 months the share price has averaged a 2.5p a week decline.
I will be happy with a steady reversal at a similar rate, hopefully getting it back to 350p in 15 months, plus an extra 26p in dividends over that time frame.
Am a happy holder at this price.

Understand Diku's comments here. FTSE at an all time high, FTSE rose 1.0% yesterday and BT treading water, in fact it was one of the worst performers on the FTSE 100 (again)….

Mbmiah. Personally having watched this share come down nearly 60% from the 500p highs of a couple of years ago, I decided I didn't want to wait and hope it would go down 64% to get to 180p. I am never that good at those kinda calls. True it may go down but also it may go up after falling this far?

diku explain your logic. The FTSE is made up of 100 companies and gets its valuation from the MKT cap of those companies. Company valuation drive the FTSE not the FTSE driving company valuations.

If it wasn't for the last 2 days of FTSE up days then it would have touched 200p by now...

A 1%, or even a 2% bounce isn't convincing IMO Anybody think it will drop further? I can't say for sure. I'm in if it does though.

Diku - from memory I do recall Dave Lewis doing a 'job' at Unilever earning the nickname 'Drastic Dave'. Maybe BT could do with something drastic rather than Gavin's 'fiddling'?

Cost cutting here and cost cutting there for a mega company produces results naturally...and yes they are lucky one time performers...and the journos will pump their profiles..

Didn't say Dudley was a 'hero' as you put it, but BP's turnaround has not been solely based on the rise in oil price, in fact BP's turnaround started before the oil price rise.
