Anyone care to comment on the reduced output (70%) - will this mean a significant extension of boiler life as regards creep fatigue?

£43/MWh for 54TWh is interesting, and IMHO a very good deal for BGY.

British Energy to Sell Nuclear Power Output From Magnox Plants

By Paul Dobson

March 20 (Bloomberg) -- British Energy Group Plc, the U.K.'s biggest power generator, agreed to sell the electricity produced from two power plants operated by the U.K.'s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

British Energy will sell the output from the Magnox-design Oldbury and Wylfa nuclear power stations, which are expected to produce about seven terawatt hours before decommissioning at the end of 2008 and 2010 respectively, Bill Hamilton, a spokesman for the authority, said today in a phone interview.

The electricity was previously marketed by Energy Sales & Trading Ltd., the merchant unit of British Nuclear Group, Hamilton said. The group requested bids for its electricity- trading unit in August to focus on decommissioning and cleanup.
