20/2/2007 19:08 | That's what I thought Nirag. - UK govt own 65% and the've announced selling between 20% - 30%. What foxes me is that the above stats don't add up! The top 7 holders plus the govt stake works out at a total of 108%! Can't figure out where I've gone wrong, and I ain't got the energy to read all the rns releases again! | sat69

20/2/2007 18:51 | Below are the large shareholders as indicated by rns releases this year: - Axa 11% Deutsche Bank 10% Prudential 6% Barclays 6% L & G 3% Goldman Sachs 3% Wellington Management 4% Above total = 43% Can anybody please help me by posting a link showing what the UK Govt own? Clearly if it is around 50%, these are so tightly held we can expect a small volume to move the share price wildly. | sat69

20/2/2007 08:21 | British Energy Started Nuclear Unit at Hartlepool (Update1) By Armorel Kenna Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- British Energy Group Plc, whose nuclear reactors can produce about a fifth of the U.K.'s power, started a generation unit at the Hartlepool nuclear plant yesterday. Hartlepool 2, with a capacity of about 605 megawatts, started production at about 5:30 p.m. local time yesterday, Sue Fletcher, a spokeswoman for British Energy, said in a phone interview today. ``It's on its way'' to full capacity, Fletcher said. Hartlepool 2 was operating at 200 megawatts this morning, according to data on a Web site operated by National Grid Plc. The other unit at Hartlepool was operating at 600 megawatts. The plant halted unit 2 for planned refueling on Feb. 10. Five other British Energy units in the U.K. remain closed, including its 550-megawatt Dungeness B 22 unit, two 610-megawatt units at Hinkley Point B and two 600-megawatt units at Hunterston B, the Web site showed.
