It has a serious risk of financial stress in the next two years and a high risk of earnings manipulation. Three basics to learn up on Altman Z Score, Pitroski F and Benish Score. Make sure the price is above the 20/50/100/200 moving average at least!

The risks going forward have been underestimated (as I've mentioned previously).
Be mindful of the net debt. Will it have it's moment in the sun again?,
on past history you might not rule this out. But the sector no longer looks 'safe'.

I think that BATS has enjoyed a higher valuation than IMB for some time. it has not been fully justified and the market is now responding to this. I think this may touch £30 and I may become a buyer at that point - I expect many other will too

PRESS: TOBACCO STOCKS SINK AMID NEW VAPING PRODUCT CRACK DOWN

[ 12 Oct 2018 08:44 ]

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tobacco stocks in London fell Friday following a global tobacco control treaty, which included a decision that new "vaping" products should face the same restrictions as cigarettes.

Shares in Imperial Brands PLC and British American Tobacco PLC were down 2.6% and 1.4%, respectively Friday.

According to JapanToday, a meeting of state parties to the UN health agency's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control concluded last week with a number of anti-industry rulings, including increased efforts to curb industry influence and a call to crack down on new products.

Philip Morris International Inc and other companies have argued that the new products are far less dangerous than traditional cigarettes, and can help smokers unable to quit completely switch to "safer" alternatives, according to the Japanese news website.

The World Health Organisation, however, dismissed the argument about new products and has called for the same bans on advertising, promotion and sponsorship deals that apply to cigarettes, the report added.

Also think we may see below £30. Would more than likely buy more if so.

Well it touched the top of my suggested range [3250-3000] for a low of just below 3250 AM today. Dissapointing and strange how BATS has been seriously bettered by IMB over the last two months, anyone know of any reason for this.?

In the light of todays velocity I have now adjusted my range for a bottom at 3250-2850 which would be a 50% retracement, which in itself is a strange number so can't be too confident.

The stock is just being driven by fear, we need earnings to get it back on track. The main problem is a bottom has not been found, it's beyond a strong buy at this price.
