16/8/2024 12:44 | No harm, seven days of gains, bound to be profit taking, I top sliced a few locked in nice profit, especially with 58.8p on top.Only level got to look for in my opinion for next week 2753p, don't won't that broken. Nvidia 28th August figures big day for me. Good weekend bulls and even pesky bears, lol. | montyhedge
15/8/2024 17:28 | Looks like to me a rotation back into tech, leaving dividend companies. | montyhedge
15/8/2024 15:42 | I am sure you will get there, especially now I have sold my final tranches here. Was planning on keeping those for a higher target price, but wanted the cash for something else. It has nonetheless been a splendid position for me. And a rare case of decent cap gains plus some lovely dividends along the way. Always nice when those pain purchases (mid 22's and early 23's) turn out well. No doubt I have left plenty more in the tank for others. GLA and I hope you see 30-plus down the line. | lovewinshatelosses
15/8/2024 09:51 | Looking good my £29 average is getting closer hopefully by the end of August | 11romano
15/8/2024 08:55 | imb at about a 3 year high. bats has some catching up to do. That is what I am waiting for. Lovely jubbly | supermarky
14/8/2024 18:21 | Another close over 2800.. Lower inflation figures in the US today, a rate cut is getting closer, yield hunters will be buying dividends as returns on cash deposits reduce.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
14/8/2024 16:27 | Tag, thank you. I should check that out. Pendragon2 was the guy who pointed me in the direction of SBLK as we both haunt several of the same threads. | mcunliffe1
14/8/2024 15:44 | MC1 there is a board set up for SBLK if you are interested, with regular decent comments added. | tag57
14/8/2024 15:24 | I took a punt yesterday and bought SBLK (Nasdaq)- Star Bulk Carriers Corp. First time I have bought a non-UK stock. Used my ii SIPP and was required to purchase in UK pounds as my SIPP has no dollar balance. This, I presumed, would be converted to US dollars and the subsequent purchase made in that currency. By my calculations the conversion was at about 1.263 dollars to the pound which matches very closely with some cash I ordered online for an upcoming Florida holiday next week. With the basic deal charge and no stamp duty I'm quite happy with the setup. SBLK do seem to be a very good, four times a year, divi payer and that's my game. I am not recommending the stock as I am not knowledgeable enough but you may want to look at this yourselves. Next ex-div is Aug 27th | mcunliffe1
14/8/2024 12:38 | Of course they wont reverse the stamp duty thing....easy money again for nothing like buying a house | nemesis6
14/8/2024 12:32 | You're right, I've taken a punt US tech stocks have a bounce, Punted in Nvidia on the figures 28th August. The only thing buying US stocks is currency can go against you, on the plus side no stamp duty, ftse 100 stocks we have stamp duty rip off as far as I'm concerned. | montyhedge
14/8/2024 10:51 | bats is a defensive stock with reliable divis. It is also already bombed out even given the recent move up. There are always reasons to be twitchy but bats is a good place to be for me. | supermarky
14/8/2024 10:48 | I am here for the long hall and happy as Larry as a bats investor. (whoever Larry is!) Patience and divis. | supermarky
14/8/2024 09:05 | No one goes hungry when banking a profit so well done plastow and monty. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt

14/8/2024 08:07 | I've sold out again as I'm getting a bit concerned about the Ukraine Russian situation plus middle East is looking not to good which will effect markets had to lock in profits. And wait for another buying opportunity gla | plastow
13/8/2024 22:07 | UK and US CPI data tomorrow, could signal for FED rates to start to pull back in September, a lot of shares will trade sideways until we see a catalyst for growth, and consumer spending increasing.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
13/8/2024 21:26 | Shareprice starting to roll over on 2800p, I may top slice a few tomorrow, may be wrong of course but looks likerunning out of steam for the time being. | montyhedge

13/8/2024 16:23 | Merge with imb | revell40
13/8/2024 14:56 | An actually very good one that I have used in the past, must go check the old credit card cash rates. K | korvet
13/8/2024 10:39 | Korvet: Topping Up Monthly? How about borrow the money you intend to invest over these 12 months. The current yield on BATS is almost 8.5%. Borrowing is surely less than that. Just an off-piste idea. | mcunliffe1
13/8/2024 09:52 | Don't want it to break anything for at least 12 mths, want to top up mthly. | korvet
12/8/2024 17:21 | Can't break 2801p , on a market upday for the FTSE 100, might just roll over short term, back to 2750p anyone's guess. | montyhedge |
