30/9/2021 14:23 | Thanks carpet, it was just the £28.85 i couldn't figure out. No crystal balls in this game but i just thought Bats were trading at 2,626 on 20 Sept so when i had the chance to sell for a profit at 2,731 yesterday i took it. Since it was on the rise to XD i guessed the share price might drop back to that level. At a possible £26 these must be a huge bargain, maybe yielding 8.5% at that. With the good chance of inflation looming i think buyers will flock to high dividend shares All good fun.... | kipper999
30/9/2021 13:52 | Hi kipper take the $ to £ exchange rate on hxxps://www.xe.com/c At the moment the pre-market price of BTI is 36.08. The exchange rate is .7422 so sterling equivalent is 36.08 x .7422 = 2677.9p | car1pet
30/9/2021 12:39 | Out of interest, how are you calculating $36.10 to reach £28.85 please carpet? Thanks in advance | kipper999
30/9/2021 11:52 | I'm guessing there will be a small rally at end of day. The current pre-market for BTI is 36.10 which equates to approx 2885. £26 looks unlikely to me but I'm often wrong - we shall see!! | car1pet
30/9/2021 11:19 | SP off 76p to 2,660 as i type. Another 60p tomorrow is quite possible.... Would start to get interested at £26 All out yesterday at 2,731 53.9p dividend for those long termers who held.... | kipper999
30/9/2021 08:42 | This is massive news | topazfrenzy
30/9/2021 07:07 | Looks like BATS won the case against the big US tobacco companies to block the import of IQOS into the states, should give a nice boost to the NGP sales in the region! EDIT: If anyone is wondering why the price is dropping today it's ex-dividend day | gabsterx
29/9/2021 18:23 | step, just for sake of clarity. The spread on Bats today was 2,734 to buy 2,733 to sell. That's a spread of 0.04% You will have to pay Stamp Duty of 0.5% on purchase. That's about 13p at this price. My broker will want £5. On a £10,000 trade that's not too much. Not got a system that guarantee's, sorry. But plenty of people trading like this with reasonable returns; it's 'horses for courses' i guess.... | kipper999
29/9/2021 18:09 | The ADR is continuing to rise - currently 37.10 which equates to 2763p using latest exchange rate | car1pet
29/9/2021 16:54 | To be factually correct it was 26 shares that met that criteria according to Bowmore Asset Management.Investec and Aviva were also mentioned. | redbaron10
29/9/2021 16:46 | Nice finish to the day.Even if there is a sell off below the ex-div price, with inflation at 3-4% there aren't many places to park your cash in equities to stop inflation eroding your hard earned. At least here with a 7.8% divi your cash buying potential is safeguarded to a certain extent.Apparently according to the Sunday Express i think there were 23 shares in the Ftse 350 with dividend yields over the current rate of inflation.BATS,IMB,R | redbaron10
29/9/2021 16:46 | You still pay stamp duty, plus spread and dealing charges whenever you trade in and out. Sure, you might make a profit this time, but you will lose as often as you win (unless you have some sort of system which guarantees otherwise, in which case you will have retired to your Caribbean island by now :-)) Cheers, StepOne | stepone68
29/9/2021 15:30 | I once traded out of BATS around £7 back in 2004. Waited for a drop so I could get back in, but it never came :-( | stepone68
29/9/2021 15:23 | Alternatively you could just have held on to them. No stamp duty or dealing charges to worry about. | stepone68
29/9/2021 13:48 | :-) Kipper, that would do it. But for me I hope you don't get your wish. Still hanging onto mine haha GL though! | captaincad
29/9/2021 13:42 | Eye eye cap'n Yes, 0.5% stamp works out at about 13p at these levels Plus my broker (iWeb) will want a fiver.... There's the ex divi drop to consider & also the coming FDA announcement on vaping in US. Kindof decided i need a £26, or below, buyback price..... All in my view,,,,, | kipper999
29/9/2021 13:34 | No I'm still holding for the time being Kipper 999.hoping they maintain or even increase dividend. I also hold IMB. Alot of talk about correction with stocks in general due to problems in China so maybe best to have some cash spare to dip back in at later date. | gemlotte55
29/9/2021 13:11 | It has to drop quite a bit more than the Divi to make it worth while. Make sure you take the tax and commission into account if you do :-) GLA | captaincad
29/9/2021 13:01 | Not sure gem, is the answer Am mostly cash now having sold all oil & gas and now Bats. Still have IMB See how far (if) it drops. You? | kipper999
29/9/2021 12:48 | Kipper, will you buy in again on the drop? | gemlotte55
29/9/2021 12:34 | Took 2,720 in the end. Small capital gain within my ISA, but happy i guess. Now it's all on the drop(?) over the next few day's for me.... | kipper999
29/9/2021 10:47 | Yeah, I missed that which was annoying but may come again.... | otemple3
29/9/2021 10:16 | Yes, missed that but i would accept that too. 2,719 as i type, so might see it again. DOW down heavilly yesterday, & i see futures up. So, our(FTSE) market may get a leg up at 2:30 with Bats following on..... Quite undecided (as usual...lol) But do believe share price will drop more than 53p Thursday | kipper999
29/9/2021 10:03 | I sold at 2730 this morning chuffed wi that | linton5 |
