Markets are diving in the US

Glad to have my money here and not in some overinflated rubbish stocks, income is what counts when the sh*t hits the fan

Income shares are fine if you want income.

Hi Porsche, if the FTSE is at a discount, then isn't it a good time to buy. Also, on the Brexit thing, it's happened already - you need to look forward, not back.

Income shares a pointless waste of time, capital destructive dross listed on an exchange the world hates (ftse trades at a 30 pc discount to other markets thanks to brexit self harming fiasco) Stick to the S&P and stick to growth.

Have you any evidence that astute fund manager are accumulating?

For every buy there's a sell and vice versa.

I am still accumulating, sold some BP (for a good profit) and added another 200 shares today :)

... some funds are amassing too, like those announced yesterday

Astute fund managers are grabbing these at these levels, and before long many others will be scrambling for them at £40+ imo

Remember BUY WHEN THINGS ARE CHEAP and NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND!!!

Well I bought in July 2003 for £6.45 a share. I've had more back from divis than I spent on them, and that's despite the fact that I top-sliced some in 2009 at £17 like an idiot! If they went bust tomorrow I would still have doubled my money.

Not BATS. If you had bought 4 years ago you would be 30% down on your investment, even with the dividends.

Sure, but if you are going to think of it that way, then in September we gained 2 divis in a month. Then lost them in October, and gained them back in November.

Wow, share prices really do go up and down!

If it keep falling at this rate you've lost the divi in a week.

I think the market is about to wake up big time to these defensives, the tech sell-off has started and the rotation therefore into value and divi paying giants is bound to take off

Questor: BAT’s dividend unlikely to go up in a puff of smoke regardless of 2021 pressures

Questor share tip: the tobacco giant’s payouts remain attractive despite its lack of appeal to ethical investors

This stock is on sale, the Director knew this of course and thus the huge buy.

Those not taking advantage of the current share price to get in or top up will probably kick themselves in a few months time imo
