Thanks geckotheglorious for the advice. That's my motivation for doing it but i have to see what the Chancellor does around CGT and IHT among other things before finally deciding. |
I see Goldman has PM as one of their top picks. If a recession is coming in the US it's defensive stock choices for a while |
Nope with HL |
II paid, in my accounts this morning. |
AJ Bell have paid |
Anyone seen our dividends yet? Nothing in my accounts or wifes |
public workers should pay more for their pensions instead of we the private sector.. |
The Capital Group Companies, Inc.Looks like they have increased there holding?? |
redbaron10 Post 9402 "I'm here for dividend income.Depending on what Labour unveils in their autumn budget i might go back into property if dividends ie unearned income is going to be clobbered......which is what i suspect"
Isn't rent from a second property deemed as "unearned"
In a company wrapper? Lower corp tax than unearned income tax wager? |
Reeves has made a huge political error with pensioners winter fuel payment. Why did she do it? The alleged black hole of £20bn is only 2% of the £1.2tr annual spend. With interest rates falling, debt interest will reduce and the £20bn will be petty cash. I can't be difficult to make savings of 2%. She looked ok before the election but not impressed so far |
Sea of red apart from this 30 here we come?? |
Perhaps markets were expecting a 0.5% cut so were disappointed? |
Great to see a few nibbles and 2800 fall, 3000 looks likely this year and 3500 from summer 2022 does not look so far over the horizon anymore, 1st rate cut in the bag here in the UK and the FED are now looking towards September for theirs driving income seekers into high yield equities.. :o)
Todays offer prices ramped up in advance of the DRIP or auto re-invest as dividends clear accounts tomorrow..? |
Out now . In in HSBA |
The scramble for yield is on now with interest rate cuts starting. |
The cap on the lifetime pension allowance is bound to come back into play in my opinion as is a reduction of the £60k current contribution limit.
I think though they raise the previous caps so go with £50k / £1.2m or something.
Good luck all and sorry for going off topic sort of 👍🏻 |
#Supermarky, anything is possible, but IMO they will raid all the other soft targets before ISA dividends, but a ceiling could come for the fund size for dividend income tax exemption..?
IF that were to happen, ISA holders could rotate out of income stocks and go for CG growth funds instead to reduce taxable income, 1 problem at a time and see where we go next on crytallising a CG inside the tax free wrapper..
Just thinking out aloud as it is 1 of my fears too, the current dividend allowance of 500 quid has already been whittled away to next to zip.. |
Surely they will not touch stocks and shares isa dividends |
momentum is here nowadays |
May also ramp up IPT rate. Currently 12%. In 2023 £1.88bn was raised at this 12% rate.
£2.35bn would be raised (at least) if the rate went to 15% |
Exactly why the ISA tax wrapper is such a gem, but we will have to see what tax raids come 1st, if income tax, NICS and VAT are left untouched as promised, the priority taxes will be..
IHT CGT LTA ceiling re-introduced [edit] Pension contributions relief Director dividend tax has already been ramped up by the Tories, but may also get hiked..? |
