Excellent news - Thorny River keeps getting better.
I'm not sure how the market will react to this news in the short term, perhaps with little more than a shrug, but in the long term this is a winner.

Usual BOD market reaction to stunning news, up and immediately back down. But once the diamonds start coming out of the ground it will take off to never come down. In the meantime, it remains at bargain prices.

The company that continues to deliver.

Open Pit Mining, better get some carrots for their donkey then, hope they didn't forget to pack buckets and spades !

And for those that have not read the previous years accounts ...

that donkey (or was it an ass?) IS featured.

Yep, totally agree. They are light years apart. VAST has no credibility whatsoever. BOD has complete credibility.

I think the Vast share price is the proxy for the credibility of Vast's management, and how it is perceived. share price now in free fall at 0.5p so I would take what Vast and Gem say is ths position, and discount Vast's announcement completely.

Looking forward now to getting more info about Maibwe; in particular about kimberlite Go173S that BOD drilled for microdiamond assessment.

Originally reported to be less than 1Ha in size, it seems to have swelled to more like 25Ha.

That would be a major discovery if it turns out to be significantly diamondiferous.

It comes to exactly the same thing.
BOD are looking for a partner to replace Vast in the Ghagoo deal, and the deadline has been extended to May 10th to allow for negotiations to be completed.
Gem Diamonds also issued an RNS about it this morning; again the same substance in different words.

Slightly different wording that BOD from VAST this morning

"Further to the previous announcement regarding the Company informing Botswana Diamonds PLC ("BOD") & Gem Diamonds (together "the parties") of its intention not to proceed with the acquisition of GDB, as announced on 23 August 2021, the parties continue working together to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome and in the interim an agreement has been reached to extend the longstop date by 40 days from 31 March 2022 to 10 May 2022 to allow BOD to secure an alternative joint venture partner. TBTT - agree with all of that - TR being the main driver and looking bigger and better and more 'imminent' with each piece of news. Ghaghoo and Maibwe to one side as the wild cards but both potentially huge, it isn't widely known, but locally in Botswana Maibwe is rumoured to be massive and has been kept quiet, so nice to see some movement there.
