If any one of us here was able to give you an answer to that we would be in a breach of confidentiality. Putting any deal, that may be going through, at risk

NickB I didn't mention her because she does actually bring skills they haven't had in the past. Clearly William Hill is selling its services to a mass market of individuals who "buy" their product regularly though not on a subscription basis. The tobacco industry is a similar model but isnot us ing defined payments and also sells through a smaller number of retailers. WH is nearer to BIRD because it also has a direct financial link to its customers which is the elevate model.

What prompted my remark was realising that they had no NED competent to chair the audit committee. Somebody who has that expertise is almost always an accountant who was either a partner in a blue chip audit firm or an experienced CFO from a quoted company. I should have spotted that before since neither DA nor John Honeycutt would have the knowledge to fill that role. Somebody with the right skills would also have existing links with Institutional Investors.

I get the impression that many so called investors here have no faith in the management. So sell up. Stop bleating. If the share price was rising the same characters would be singing the managements praises.

Anyone any contact with SS lately. Can't understand what is happening, maybe some direct contact might help. I'd be surprised if anyone is consistently using elevate.io. It seems like a complete fiasco and compounded by a NED departure which suggests management sees no future in the company.

Anyone spoke with SS/ IM lately?

Clocktower, don't be a d#%d$.

Rem bully my BIRD I come for yours.. ;-)

DA leaving is not really a blow, I think I saw her once and that was online while she was was running late in a taxi..
NED job is to look after the interests of shareholders. End of.

Some don't seem to know this.

Hopefully the new NED will be more PI focused and ask questions of the BOD.

I think BIRD marketing is and has always been mind boggling.

Like they don't need to bother..

Well let's hope.

bonio10000 Directors who add something to a BoD usually have extraordinary skills the others lack. Knowing when to stop projects is one that can save and make a lot of e.g. Sykes at GSK. In the case of BIRD they have the knowhow and the product historically but can they sell it... on the evidence so far probably not? Will elevate just continue that record or will MV be able to sell it in vast quantities? At least his past record suggests he can do so.

BIRDs problem in the past was that apart from SBS the BoD was mediocre at best. IM and SW at least had experience at the right level as do SR and MV. So a new NED should complement their skills not duplicate them.

As an aside - the wife appoints NEDs all the time for companies they have in administration but need to appoint "directors" for.

They have a panel and even as a sitting duck they are very well paid, thousands a week, for just crossing the i's and t's.

They also get insurance paid for them in case anything happens and so they are covered.

Very lucrative for doing FA.

For sure though - you wonder what value the NEDs and Chairperson has provided for the last 10 years.

bonio10000 BIRD is not easily able to recruit NEDs because of its long history of underachievement. What is certain is that no major II is now likely to pick up shares without somebody who has credibility in the London financial community being a NED... unless of course BIRD can launch elevate and show exponential growth to say 250K paying users in 6mths because that sort of success is its own magnet for investors.

So whilst I think a quality NED would help I would not start looking until elevate is actually producing a cash inflow from subscriptions and the marketss know that it is flying.
