04/1/2009 00:33 | How would you know. You appear to know little about anything from what I can see. Others on this board also hold this view | hardie1961
04/1/2009 00:31 | Granny7 ....... LOL !!!!! (I've been rumbled. Damn !! ) Hardie, I don't share yours either, but then, not many do. | ivanburgess
03/1/2009 23:43 | Ivan I do not share your optimistic view for BLR. Its dead in the water | hardie1961
03/1/2009 21:32 | "Ok, I'm not an oil man, and could be well wrong, but thats just how I would read it." Most amusing moment of 2009...When Ivanburgess gets exposed as being Ivan Burgess!! | granny7
03/1/2009 18:43 | Morning all. Happy new year to everyone. Fut, I think I'm now going down with your dreaded bug. Could you please not come online if you have flu or whatever, as we all don't want to catch it. But too late now, so just remember for the future, if you have something evil, then try an find an "isolation ward" somewhere. Maybe one of Vavoom's threads ..... no-one ever goes there. (Just kidding, Fut. Wish you a speedy recovery). Cap'n NF. Good thoughts. However, It may not be that previous wells were badly designed, for we must remember they were only "exploration wells", which after confirmation of oil, were then completed as "production wells." As exploration wells, the bore diameter was probably chosen so that if dry or full of water, it could have been P&A'd a little easier, and also it would have been a little quicker and cheaper to drill a narrow bore than a wider one, especially as they were only speculative. Casing too, would have been minimal, for all the associated costs would have been a heck of a lot higher in what essentially was a speculative drill. (hence the risk of sand ingress, and later gravel packing, after testing, etc). But now that we have all the data from those wells, PEG will hopefully be able to optimise the drill size to the possible flow predictions, hopefully giving us a wider bore drill and the highest possible flow rates. They will also know where casing would or wouldn't be necessary too. Ok, I'm not an oil man, and could be well wrong, but thats just how I would read it. I also think we could start to see some buying when the reports come out. Not only will they help to instill confidence in those not already familliar with the company, but I am sure there will be some who see the current price as a golden opportunity to get on the register ready for when the next phase of financing comes around, for if shareholders get first crack, then there won't be much opportunity if only a tiny percentage is in private hands. We holders could be in a prime position. But I do agree that this could well be our year, and all us long-suffering holders will get something back. Its certainly been an exciting ride. | ivanburgess
02/1/2009 14:18 | Thanks Captain, I'm just ill and fed up! :~#( | futhark
02/1/2009 13:01 | Happy new year all! Fut there won't be much going on here until we're back out of suspension with the new deal and name change done and dusted. Then we'll see how long it takes for Pacific to recommence operations on Arce and Acacia. Folks were mentioning the last wells on Arce and a steaming of the field. Well the steam testing will have to start from scratch again until the reservoir reaches a stable temperature post-steaming. From what is suggested by the petrotech reports the cluster requires redrilling. All the best gear will be used by our Canadian giant as operator, I don't expect any corners to be cut and anticipate a better well design and better flow rates than the previous wells. The petrotech report gives the impression that the current wells on Arce and Acaica had improper well design, so its effectively starting things from scratch. That's not necessarily a bad thing. They still have the reservoir data from the original wells so they're not wasted. They can use this information for the new wells to optimise potential reservoir exposure. Petrotech pencilled in end of 2008 for commencement of operations on Arce. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that once things settle down with the technicalities of what was effectively a reverse takeover, with cash rather than backing in assets, that we'll get back to business again soon. Pacific had aggressive plans to ramp up their production with the acquisition of Kappa, so I'm looking forward to some action here later in the year. Captain Nelson Forties | captainnelsonforties
02/1/2009 10:51 | I agree with you, allstar. You are, indeed, a total (multiple-thread) barefaced ramper! | asmodeus
01/1/2009 16:19 | Not much going on here today? | futhark
01/1/2009 00:20 | Happy and Prosperous new year to all my fans. | futhark
31/12/2008 19:06 | Have you got the right thread there andrescerri? ! But ditto the same from me. | granny7
31/12/2008 18:34 | MAY THE BEST OF 2008, BE THE WORST OF 2009!! A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU AND ALL YOUR LOVED ONES MAY 2009 MAKE ALL OUR DREAMS COME TRUE | andrescerri2
31/12/2008 08:26 | Morning. Whats happenned to the price? Edit:Please ignore the above, I've sobered up now. | maxk
30/12/2008 21:41 | Take care Futhark | hardie1961
30/12/2008 12:07 | Afternoon just looked in to see if I can afford to put the heating on! Dr has put me on anti-biotics I still have no appetite & can't stop coughing. Catch you all later Fut. | futhark
30/12/2008 09:52 | TBF, would make no difference, the product being produced for test would be sold at market price. No point in storing it when you could get something to offset the cost of testing. But lets get something to test first.......... | oilretire
30/12/2008 09:50 | Punted for BLR next year in one of TMF for fun comps. I had a good read of the shareholder circular - now I know how they came up with the name change from Blackrock Oil to Woburn Energy. They are moving to share Orient Petroleum's London office at 16 Upper Woburn Place :-) | oilretire
30/12/2008 09:44 | Jim, a six month production test may actually not be a bad idea while the economy and oil price recover. Explore and test now and sell later at a better price ;) IMHO | trickyboyfish
30/12/2008 08:58 | So the millions of pounds pumped into the company during the last five years have made us all a lot richer ! | enamel
29/12/2008 22:59 | Ivan. Your comments are unfair. Oh Dear Oh Dear | hardie1961
29/12/2008 17:44 | Yes, Hardie, shares will be diluted, but of course, the value of the company must now include another £2,000,000 of cash in its assets, so the value of each share must remain similar to that before the £2,000,000 was injected. I thought you should have known that? In fact, the value has dropped a tad, but that was not because of the dilution, but because if the placing was done at 1 penny, then many shareholders would be trying to get them at or near the placing price. That is about normal in the stock market, but again, you should know that too. I'm surprised you didn't know that, but then again, you don't seem to know much anyway, judging by your stupid comments. I wonder if it is just sour grapes, or whether there is some other ulterior motive for your incessant snidey snipes at the Crock? But when all is said and done, I would rather be holding now than at any other time when we were struggling to exist on virtually no money, and in the hands of the inept Krappa. We were very convenient to them for all the drilling we did on our joint ventures, simply helped fill their coffers with our cash, for they owned the drilling rigs which we were obliged to use. They made money, win or lose, whereas now it will be a different picture. We should now have all the money we need to last us for some considerable time, and which should certainly be until the oil starts flowing, and we are receiving the proceeds of that oil, back into our bank account. With PEG as the driving force, and Prospero contributing another $4,000,000 for the development of Las Quinches, I am sitting rather more comfortably than I was a while back, wondering whether we will survive the winter. I now know we DID get through the winter. It seems you can't bring yourself to accept that. But why? .... especially as you don't appear to even hold any shares in Black Rock anyway, ...... I believe you actually did say that a while ago? Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the Chrismas break, and I wish all a happy and prosperous New Year too. (Fut, sorry to hear you weren't too good). Let the good times roll !!!!! | ivanburgess |
