31/5/2001 14:08 | I am not saying that BSN has not risen. I am pleased for you. But it has nothing to do with the spread of an MM being 6 -14. The problem now is that only one MM is at 10 on the bid. If he has an order to fill then when it is filled he will drop the bid. Some other MMs may have followed upwards at the offer end, where there are 4 MMs willing to sell shares to you, in order to unload some stock. Beware this is type of thing has happened before with BSN about a year ago. The stock would recover every morning and once the US had opened it dropped again. Each time the price rose people were buying and when it dropped they sold. The MMs were just moving the spread up and down causing buying and selling. This went on for weeks, the trend was downwards all the time. People kept getting suckered in day after day. | haystack
31/5/2001 13:24 | Dear haystack, I will go on a course, but BSN has still risen %20. WORK IT OUT. | jellytots
31/5/2001 13:00 | Jellytots I wouldn't waste your money on Level 2 if you dont understand it. There is only one broker on the bid the rest don't want to buy. I would guess that one of the MMs has a buyer with an order to fill, which is why he has put up the bid. The rest are on 6, 8 9 and 9 1/2. When the order is filled then what? There are four MMs willing to sell you shares at 11 though. | haystack

31/5/2001 11:22 | DEAR HAYSTACK, MM'S DON'T WANT TO BUY????? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO TOLD ME THAT 'MM BUYING' WASN'T, AND THAT 6-14 ON LEVEL 2 WAS THAT MM DON'T WANT TO BUY???? REMIND ME TO NEVER LISTEN TO YOU AGAIN. BSN UP %17 AND RISING. | jellytots
31/5/2001 10:22 | who knows? but lots of people taking a gamble. ps Darren I went in to vote for wgg on the top stockpicker but you had just beaten me to it so I picked BSN and lo and behold here you are on the BSN board. spooky eh | lgw
31/5/2001 10:12 | news leaked ? Have got finance ? | darren b
31/5/2001 08:50 | Spear aparently...if you zoom in on that dot you'll find buried amongst the pixels an encrpyted message revealing his source...looks like Ban nagwar, however my encryption algorithm is playing up this morning... | liverlips
30/5/2001 16:49 | Liverlips The X trades (crosses) are nothing to do with MMs. They are a swap between two brokers (or rather their clients). The price is slightly higher than is usual. Normally a cross is done ate the mid price. I don't think that there is anything significant in it being at the offer price, but who knows. | haystack
30/5/2001 16:13 | Haystack, Understood...any thoughts about the 250k and the 600k cross? MM's shifting stuff about or is it classed as a sell? Cheers | liverlips
30/5/2001 16:13 | Haystack your spot on in your explanation of the 6-14p spread. Jellytots go on the advfn level 2 course. Its only two hours and about £41 well worth the money. | oufofpocket
30/5/2001 15:12 | The price is rising because there have been quite a few buys today. Don't forget it went down yesterday. Small movements do not mean much at the moment. The size of the deals may look large, but not when you see the share price. The largest deal of the day was only just over £6,000. It is not so signigicant that there is only one MM at 9p on the offer. The most important fact is that there are now 6 MMs at 8p on the bid. The bid is what you should be interested in. If this does not move then you don't get any more for your shares. The offer can go to what it likes. | haystack
30/5/2001 14:33 | Similar to yesyerday exept one MM has changed to 8-12p. For VIK, 3 at 1-1.5, 1 at 0.75-1.5 | jellytots
30/5/2001 14:12 | Jellytots Level 2 on BSN if you have time? | lgw
30/5/2001 09:10 | Another GAM in the making ? GAM unable to get finance. | darren b
30/5/2001 08:18 | thanks Jellytots I am reading as many books as I can but dont have level 2. | lgw
30/5/2001 00:58 | Basically it means that the MM's are preparing to buy at higher levels. Level 2 info: 1 MM at 7.5-9 1 at 7.5-10.5 3 at 8-9.5 4 at 8-10 1 at 8-12 1 at 6-14 For the past few weeks, there have been 3 or 4 MM's in BSN with 8-10p spreads. Now there are 11 MM's in BSN with the spreads above. Similar as to QXL before it shot up. Something a cooking? | jellytots
30/5/2001 00:31 | jellytots, could you explain the 14p highest support on level 2? I do not understand. | lgw
30/5/2001 00:26 | lets hope so and soon about it imho regards tim | raging bull1
30/5/2001 00:01 | Another reason to get into this stock is that there is a lot of Level 2 support. For the last 2 weeks they have only been quoting the spread. Now it has moved to highest support at 14p. Something on the horizon? Good luck to all holders. | jellytots |
