29/5/2001 23:25 | Last orders at the bar..... | spear
29/5/2001 22:32 | See if I've got anything left after QXL. LGW will do it for you during trading tomorrow. If you can afford it, I think it is worth it. Also, if you can afford it go on a training course (click on training) above and then at least you know what you are doing instead of following the market blindly. | jellytots
29/5/2001 21:30 | Jelly you in ? The boys are riding into town thursday or friday you with us ? Were gonna shoot up the place.... Regards, Spear. | spear
29/5/2001 13:36 | thanks Jellytots, any chance you could have a look at level 2 on VIK normally there are no trades in this stock, but today lots. thanks | lgw
29/5/2001 08:17 | haystack thanks for that spear judgement day awaits lets try to be as positive as the circumstances allow regards tim | raging bull1
28/5/2001 23:57 | JT, I do, that is why I have heavily bought. That is not to say it will be though. There many positive pointers. I wouldnt like to predict what price this will settle at with positive news that is where I have a dilemma. I expect (obviously a few days of it shooting up then settling back below the highs whilst the stock consolidates to go to a higher level). I think the 30p may take longer to acheive than RB, although with the right financing and board changes the stock would easily justify that. With a fully financed, high quality management well who knows where the price will go !! Positive pointers are, Jim Bair why would he get involved if the company wasnt going anywhere. Newton recently bought in. No other instituational sellers. Quality management waiting 'in the wings' Dan Wagner leaving. Top quality product quoted as being a generation ahead of the competition. A focus company without all the dross of Sparza et al. Negatives. They may not get the finance, although if they dont I cannot for the life of me think why. Potentially there could be funny business going on with people ready to pick up Smart Logik 'on the cheap' Im in and staying in. I have placed my bet after studying the form and we are now betting 'in running' as they say .... Good luck to you JT whatever you decide to do. I just cant see how BSN will not get the finance, there are so many no-hoper companies that manage to raise finance, and BSN certainly with the proposed changes do not fall into that bracket. DYOR & DYOR !!!!! REMEMBER....I hold a lot of BSN so it is in my interests to point out the positives in the stock. DYOR. Regards, Spear | spear
28/5/2001 23:40 | RB... you going weak at the knees again ? Spear is still rock solid... It will soon be over now whichever way !! Good luck mate, | spear
28/5/2001 20:31 | haystack in your view - do you feel that bsn will secure the refnancing that it needs in order to take sl to profitability ?? you seem to have been accurate in your analysis so far regards tim p.s any views on why newton investment management would buy 3.5% of bsn last week equating to some 3 million shares.? seems peculiar to me in the light of bsn's current financial status | raging bull1
28/5/2001 20:14 | The problem with the 'research' tat Gecks was doing, is that it was all flawed. The computers that he found being bought by Dialog were in fact mass storage devices, which is what an information supply company would need. In other words it was just harware that they would be buying as a general rule. There was all the theories about @home and deals Gecks thougnt were happening. The trouble is that all of the information that Gecks was posting was rubbish. It was, I believe, moving the market. Even Dan got annoyed about the false rumours of hardware purchases. It was partly the overreaction of the market to these rumours that made me sceptical of the potential success of Dialog. No one was looking at the size of the debt and the lack of profits. The fan did get hit in the end and Dialog sold off the very thing that put them into debt in the first place. I am reminded of this when looking at BT. BT ar4e in debt big time largely due to the cost of the 3G licences. Now, BT are thinking of selling off the mobile phone side of their business to clear the debt. This all seems a bit deja vu. | haystack
28/5/2001 15:58 | i certainly do another huntingdon which i had the good fortune to be in on back in jan and another qxl story - i expect qxl to be circa 15 - 18p by the end of the week. this could happen to bsn with the right announcements. but bsn starting from 8.75 imho means that an intraday high of circa 30p could be achieved within a few days of such an announcement lets hope so regards tim | raging bull1
28/5/2001 15:17 | Dear spear, do you think this is going to be another qxl story? | jellytots
28/5/2001 10:14 | You'll miss it. You may accuse me a ramping. Being niave. BSN being a dog. BSN going out of bussiness blah blah blah. All I ask is you repost again after the stock rises. Mid 8.75p IMHO / DYOR Spear | spear
26/5/2001 00:06 | good point, on the other hand if you happen to get it right then the differential will have seemed quite OK. only for the brave. perhaps "Accounts" has some further comment to make if he is within earshot. | currantbun
25/5/2001 11:36 | 19% differential doesn’t encourage much buying activity, hardly seems fair on such a big Gamble (flip of a coin etc) | mjf123
25/5/2001 11:19 | probably MMs are nervous, could go either direction very fast at any moment. (that is, either way as far as the MMs are concerned) | currantbun
25/5/2001 11:17 | Any one have any ideas why the spread is so big near 19% ? | mjf123
25/5/2001 00:37 | sounds good "Accounts" please post more often. Can you explain the trades discussed above? | lgw
24/5/2001 11:21 | nice post graham regards tim | raging bull1
24/5/2001 08:29 | First time post for me; 1) BSN had cash circa £2.9 million in depleted coffers with recievables of circa £1.5-2million, this will probably last until mid-end of June. 2) City gossip (and it is gossip) is that the Smartlogik Management have at least 2 credible funding offers. The highy credible Smartlogik chairman is now effectively running the show (apparently). 3) Gossip from within suggests that DW has put an offer on the table for Sparza, which will only be implemented if or when the funding package is announced. 4) Its possible that offers are also being considered for some of the other bits. So no solid, irrefutable news as of yet, but internal view is that they are confident. Haystacks is a notorious and successful short player, its his modus operandi, any of his opinions should be viewed in this light, it does not make him wrong, but he has his own agenda - he and Goodfella, seem to attack the same companies. This company is far from out of the woods yet, but Newtons position and no corresponding sell notices, should give you a big clue as to the background moves to complete the refinancing package on schedule - as I believe it will be in the last few days of May, with an announcement shortly after, or at the sametime the results. | accounts
24/5/2001 00:43 | are those big buys crossovers? | lgw
23/5/2001 17:56 | jumped back in again today with another 50k after all the activity seems an awful lot of buying considering the business is allegedly on its last legs. personally i think we will be in for an announcememt soon now - i'm hoping thats its a positive re the refinancing. if so then the price will jump considerably - if not then the price could do the opposite. til then regards tim | raging bull1 |
