02/7/2007 14:40 | Could be putting in a base here: | gsands
01/7/2007 17:32 | breaking down ,even the £2.50 level may not hold. | ul7raviolet
30/6/2007 16:44 | I'm not very good at understanding technical analysis terms. I think I can see that the BIFF chart could be Barts head though. If the chart is to form the rest of Bart, I think it is a long way down to his shoulders. I just hope that he has a very wide head, with some very tall spikes on it. | johne1
30/6/2007 16:30 | Has anyone noticed rocking elmos chart looks a bit like the top of Bart Simpsons head. Since buying these at 295 I keep looking over my shoulder for the men in white coats, theyre surely coming soon to take me away ha ha he he ! | theband
29/6/2007 21:28 | You have my sympathy watwungyi. However, as you know, even the best have bad times. It's at the end of the year when it should all add up. We have already discussed this time of year and what it brings, as well as the additional factors which affect the markets. I don't suppose you want to read such words, so I just hope you have a good weekend to charge your batteries back up. Cheers matey and hope to read your words again soon. | johne1
29/6/2007 12:48 | Also, compare the director buys here, with the director sells at SKS. I'm not sure about how that works though. It appears that they exercised options and sold afterwards. Can anyone enlighten me? | johne1
29/6/2007 12:42 | Sorry about the last post - I know I'm not funny - 'tis appropriate though. Ok, from my diary, I make today as XD date. From my own reference notes: - Reference: RNS Tuesday 12th June 2007 The Board is recommending a final dividend of 4.2 pence taking the total dividend for the year to 6.3 pence to be paid on 31 July 2007 to shareholders on the register on 29 June 2007 Any comments? | johne1
29/6/2007 12:02 | might ground here ? | rocking elmo
29/6/2007 11:32 | I would love to see these around my £2.50 area...come too pappa then rocket on the bid,but first £2.50 | ul7raviolet
29/6/2007 11:27 | Sounds hardcore to me.. | mitzis
27/6/2007 17:18 | Dipped in at 2.70 and will add on any further weakness. I think the hint of caution on growth prospects with the results has caused this over-reaction. The directors seem equally surprised, steaming in at 2.85 recently and the lower it goes the more vulnerable to a t/over approach in what is widely known to be a consolidating sector. I'm comfortable buying in at these levels and am hedged against the general market by my other positions which are longer term shorts on overvalued cyclical stuff. | rogid
27/6/2007 17:10 | watwungyi - 27 Jun'07 - 15:58 - 699 of 702 Thank you I shall have look at the book. One of my shares AU. is, it seems, a contradiction: 1430.96 + 17.84 - 121.06 = 1327.74 . However the EV is not recorded in the financials. | tom89
27/6/2007 16:53 | You mean, ultraviolet beware. Awesave, I bought same time as you last week. Dont despair, hang in there, at these prices its just like being in on the float. | theband
27/6/2007 16:47 | In this situation any stock is vulnerable to sustained moves down, however the medium term fundamentals for this co. are still compelling, they are currently oversold. Without the placing the price would be higher, as soon as the floating stock is soaked up it will return higher, shorts beware. | bookbroker
27/6/2007 16:13 | intra day double bottom too there are still mad dogs and english men out here who think it will get bid for circa £4 ...one has to recall that the 20.8m placing was all placed...this is momentum shorting I would sugest but somewhere around £2.50 to £2.70 the buyers will return and there will be a bear squeeze | seagreen
27/6/2007 15:58 | Tom, EV stated in advfn will always be greater than market cap, because by definition ev = market cap + debt - cash, assuming the last two terms always give positive value. but i use a different approach in calculating the value of the whole enterprise. It's too much to put in detail here. but i use the advise by michael greenberg, an accademic at columbia university. his book, value investing, is available at bookshops. There are good details with exmaple how one can apply proper investing technique. That book helped change my indisciplined habit. You may refer to that book for detail. i hope this helps, Tom. good luck in your searching values. | watwungyi
27/6/2007 15:52 | Quite agree but not sure it has not turned already intra day having kissed circa £2.68 | seagreen
27/6/2007 15:15 | I am a big buyer around the £2.50 mark | ul7raviolet
27/6/2007 15:13 | Mediocre results,large placing capping price,bid possibilities receding.Price going down............time to panic before inevitable recovery to 290 level.Oh, they're XD today | steeplejack
27/6/2007 14:03 | hello £2.50 | ul7raviolet
27/6/2007 13:58 | watwungyi 680 Just wondered if you looked at the enterprise value. Does this have any relevance in your opinion? The EV is by ADVFN definition what a buyer would have to pay and that amounts to (in this case) Mkt cap + long term debt - cash & securities = > 1377M. That is 43% greater than Mkt cap. Your comments appreciated. | tom89 |
