Thanks melody.

Its a pity that most of the market for residential meters are tied up by 'inhouse' units of the major suppliers. But presumably , we can still expect BGBL's smart 1 residential product to gain some market share and possible a lot of SME as well residential tieups when it comes onto the market early next year.

Newsflow this week will be very positive , with the results and then Climate change conference as well as the Govt 'smart'energy meter on wednesday news to follow.

Energy 'smart meter' in every UK home
Tom McGhie, Financial Mail
28 November 2009, 10:53pm

The Government will give the go-ahead this week for 'smart' energy meters to be fitted in every home.

It will also unveil plans to create an 'intelligent grid' for appliances to be turned on and off automatically, taking advantage of cheap off-peak power.
The announcement, only days before the Climate Change conference in Copenhagen, aims to show that the UK is taking the threat to the environment seriously and is prepared to spend billions cutting greenhouse gases.

At the centre of the new system is the creation of a multi-billion pound company that will collect information from meters in 26 million households.

Telecoms giants O2 and Vodafone are negotiating key roles in the organisation, which will be responsible for receiving information on electricity and gas usage in every home and passing it on to energy companies.

Initially, this 'hub' is likely to be a joint venture, but energy analysts expect that once established, it could be sold off as a single company.

Energy Secretary Ed Miliband will announce details on Wednesday. If it works as planned, it will make the UK the most advanced 'green energy' country in Europe by 2020.

The blueprint will set out how energy companies will design and install the new meters. Crucially, for the first time it will also give a glimpse of how an 'intelligent grid' would operate, with household appliances coming on when energy is cheap.

Over the next two years, the energy and telecoms industries will design a system that will be compatible with all the various computer and communication systems operated by fuel suppliers. As the rollout starts, energy companies are certain to compete fiercely to win customers.

Added more shares today, again not appearing on the trades for the day.
The mm's were really not willing to sell any shares this afternoon. No surprise with results on Tuesday.

Is the drop in share price down to lack of news, people selling off to get the share price down to buy before results or inside information that news is not as good as we might hope. Ah well, tuesday 1st all will be revealed

Thanks Itchy.

I don't hold but see these as a takeover target. They have to be a good fit for other service or utilities

Draw a line from the low at the beginning of July to the low at the end of August.
Extrapolated this implies 40p or thereabouts today, although as time moves on this will gently increase.

From a charting perspective I see 40p as the most likley entry point.
All IMHO of course, DYOR etc.

DT - given the customer base that BGBL have and the way the company is growing, it would seem very likely. Who knows when though until they make an announcement!

More important is to time your entry if you are thinking of investing.... and we may be coming to a good point right now.

Hi there,

Relatively new to trading and have been watching BGlobal for a month or so now and am thinking about investing... I read they were moving up from the AIM market. Is this likely to happen soon?

I agree mikeja. This is one one of the most exciting shares on AIM. It is perfectly positioned for a massive market growth in both commercial and domestic markets. It also has the option to use the UK as a springboard for the rest of Europe and beyond.

Their challenge is not business pipeline but maintaining quality and service as they rapidly expand. The recent placing is designed in part to manage this risk although I would have prefered to see a Rights Issue as a PI.

-Perhaps the current yr forecasts of break even are a little conservative as they will have 9 profitable months and 3 losers.Todays RNS opens new sales growth for next year.

NEW JOBS ANNOUNCED AT BGLOBAL
Bglobal plc (AIM:BGBL) the market-leading provider of smart metering solutions to the UK energy market announces the creation of more than twenty new full time jobs and new sub-contracting agreements across the UK to satisfy increasing customer demand for smart metering.

It is truly remarkable how quiet this board is when BGBL has such extraordinary earnings prospects starting only a year or so down the line.

Sadly I haven't time to do a great deal of research on this one as well as on the Chinese companies I am most interested in. Come on, there have to be holders here who can come up with some interesting findings. Please...

Good posts mikeja. Now let's have a lot more from others.

159 - couldn't agree more Mikeja. Really is great to think there are some many potential new investors in BGBL out there that have never even heard of the company. I almost added a 3rd and final time at 42p. I'm overweight already but will probably pick up a few more on the next retrace. Shame it is not ISAble.

Cs have £3m pencilled in for 2010/11 maintenance income, that would be based on an average total installed of about 80k,so on 800k that would be about £30m,somewhat above my earlier estimates. That is recurring over 10yrs.
The new meter may also be sold,in large numbers for residential use, mostly to other installers at a margin of £10 to £15 per meter.

checking the CS yr to Mar 2011,I would guess that it is based on 85000 meters rather than 70000 as I suggested above. In order to get anywhere near the 1m+ meters this would have to at least double in the year 2011/12.If this was the case profits would at least treble to £13.5m and double again the following yr when at least 300k meters would be needed, maybe many more. This co is capitalised at £37m
