The analytics get me to the number of players and the growth in player numbers. For all the results going back the revenue/player was pretty constant. That gives the revenue figure. The update indicates the revenue/player has dropped for the first time.
New players growth started to fall before the half year but is still growing. Hence the assumption that revenue was growing.
To date BOTB as been very good at controlling/targeting it's promotion costs ie cost/new player was low and again pretty constant over past results. The implication now is that they've moved into the more expensive customer grab/ advertising to try to counteract the slowing growth.
Fundamentals have changed from the past so I'll input new figures into the models when I'm back at my desk later this weekend.
