More like the top than the bottom I think. The good times are done here. I'm seeing more and more competitor adverts on social media, and television. I've sold out.

Cheers,

The way things are going at the minute with the share price, one could assume that BOTB has been a Covid wonder and nothing more. I'm not so sure. I just cannot see a company growing by 250% in one year to suddenly just flounder - it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe last year was a massive jolt to not be repeated, we'll see in time - 16.6.21 will shed some light. I just don't see people stopping playing the BOTB competitions because we are easing out of COVID. Have lottery ticket sales rocketed during COVID/Are they going to collapse after it eases?? I don't know but I doubt it. The same goes for BOTB in my view.

Today, I see they are offering an R8 Audi super car plus a French Riviera holiday plus £50000 for a prize. Doesn't sound too bad to me. In fact its a lot better than prizes offered a year or two ago....

There's always worries and concerns with any business, and only time is going to tell, but my view is that BOTB will do just fine moving forward.

It is certainly more liquid than before... however 26k shares traded today, pretty high volume (some big buys, and someone selling 500 batches!) - it was still only 0.28% ish of the market cap traded today. Maybe more liquid than 6 months ago yes, but I wouldn’t call it liquid. And that’s why we see the mad swings up and down sometimes on tiny volumes. I’m torn again here as I’d like to see it more liquid so the crazy spread comes down and more buyers come in as I know this puts people off but I don’t have a problem with mgt owning the shares - if it’s good enough for them to tie up the majority of their wealth in (and not sell it off when they had the chance in the FSP), that’s good news to me.

The only mitigating joy of the crazy spread is once you’re in it’s a helpful tool to stop you trying to be smart and trade it and sit on your hands :)

Middlesbrough - the above post I’ve just given showing Slater plus 5 other Institutions have just recently invested would seem to be a fair counter argument to your suggestion that there is no one else who wants in :)

Separately, has anyone else noticed the new IIs on board? I knew Slater as it hit the RNS threshold but there’s also...Canaccord 4%, Chelverton 4%, Mirabaud 2%, JPM 1.5% and Crucible just over 1%. I wonder whether any of these are the ones doing some of the big buys recently as looks like they’re mostly below the RNS threshold. Today someone bought 3800 for £103k...that’s a pretty ballsy PI if so!

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management 397,851 4.23%
Chelverton Asset Management 381,938 4.06%
Mirabaud Asset Management 171,075 1.82%
Octopus Investment Management 120,483 1.28%
JP Morgan Asset Management 143,226 1.52%
Crucible Clarity Fund 105,032 1.12%

There was no one else to dump it to

They tried to chuck the whole lot with that strategic review as they want to get out totally

Normally I’d be concerned by director sales, but the directors had to take some chips off the table at some point. £59m is irrelevant, what matters is they kept 2/3 of their holding and only sold 1/3. That sends me a clear message of, we’d like to de-risk but we still believe in the company. I think they could have sold more if they wanted to (the placing was oversubscribed, how much so we will never know though). I say good for them, they’ve built something from nothing, time for some reward. Ignoring the sale for a second also, they still own half the company. Not sure I know many other companies almost half owned by management...big plus for me :)

Don't they still hold around double that? Those 4 shareholders still own about half the business. If my business went up in value 10 fold then I'd have to be pretty stupid not to take some risk off the table at that point. Might want to check the full picture next time.

They knew the stock was worth a lot more but they were just so kind to sell it to some institutions to help them out through the tough times

Its a good thing they have just launched the Android App to compliment the iPhone app that came out a few months ago. Playing on the go!
