19/7/2018 14:44 | HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CHECK THIS OUT HAHAHAHAHA 1 BAD YEAR HUH LOLOLOLOL YEAH...........WOTEV HISTORY DOTH REPEAT ........innit Because the company performed so far under expectations the value of the LTIP was greatly below that expected – and as a result the amount of tax deductions Engine expected to be able to make – resulting in the additional charge. Engine's bottom line was hammered by £7.2m in exceptional costs, about £4.7m of which were cash charges relating to staff cuts, expansion and refinancing costs. "Let me be right upfront, 2011 was a disappointing year for Engine," said Scott, a co-founder of WCRS, which years later formed the cornerstone of Engine Group. "I guess everyone is allowed one bad year in history and this our first." | chimers
19/7/2018 14:42 | He was shown the door shortly after......... Losses at Engine Group doubled to more than £5m in 2011, after the marketing services and PR company was hit by the loss of major client News of the World, contributing to the worst financial performance in its 11-year history. Engine Group – which owns businesses including PR firms Slice and MHP, social media company Jam and sports sponsorship arm Synergy, formerly Karen Earl – saw pre-tax losses almost double to £3.2m year on year. Total losses surged from £1.4m to £5.2m. | chimers

19/7/2018 12:08 | A lot of over reactive jumping on the crazy bandwagon this morning from the usual worthless posters. EBITDA of £3m will be higher than in previous years. Admittedly the bottom line has not grown at the same rate as the revenue/top line has... Obviously teething problems, and issues bedding in acquisitions. But talk of desperate placings are without foundation and nonsense... | haywards26
19/7/2018 11:52 | Note 1: Adjusted EBITDA is Earnings Before Interest Tax Depreciation and Amortisation and excludes; share based payments charge, abortive costs and restructuring/ redundancy costs. Redundancies - turning to plop | larva
19/7/2018 10:50 | Placing at 0.5p to support redundancy and restructuring | larva

19/7/2018 08:11 | Really!!? Haywards2630 Apr '18 - 21:43 - 2752 of 2772 Good article. Hopefully 2018 will see a year of profitable growth as all the acquisitions are bedded in and traction/cross selling across each unit occurs. Scott has all the experience to drive growth and shareholder value. It is just taking him longer and proving more testing than I am sure he envisaged...But I am confident to hold and await value :) | chimers
19/7/2018 08:10 | Currently down 30% on that trading update!! Whoda thunk it... | chimers
19/7/2018 08:08 | Octogenarian Peter Scott visited the offices yesterday and waved his walking stick in the air and said ...."You've all done very well" Last spotted slipping Martin Sorrel a 10 shilling note for the phone number of that prozzie who caters for the infirm. | chimers
19/7/2018 08:04 | It is indeed a "remarkable company" | chimers
19/7/2018 08:01 | Always good to have "due diligence" ! Professor Pettigrew (BHRD) 30 Dec 2015 - 09:35:50 Aside from Peter Scott, Nigel Wray is a City force to be reckoned with, and in no way would take such a stake here without proper due diligence and the prospect of exceptional gains going forward. Even back in the late 70's and 80's followers of Wray were usually well rewarded. There is no reason to think other than the above here. I believe over the coming months and years this will slowly grow into a very large and remarkable company indeed. | chinese investor
19/7/2018 07:55 | Urgent emergency placing required just to stay afloat imo. First time I have seen a company announce that its "jam tomorrow" is tainted. (well ok, not the first) | chimers |
