If I remember right the run up to the bank holiday weekend often brings a burst of blue in the markets.

228p would be a great result for all .... you never know we may end up having a chat at the 250 mark ... but that will certainly mean I am wearing RTG's !! gla

Why not buy sigc as a much cheaper way of owning Barclays if one is bullish. sigc's only investment is barc shares and it trades at over 30% discount.

Investing Japanese pension money in Chinese government debt is likely to be a politically unpopular decision for the $1.63 trillion GPIF, considering the historically tense relations between the two countries. Those relations may get even frostier if Japan bows to pressure to join other major democracies in imposing sanctions on China.

Barc kissed 190p today so is getting closer to the psychological round number of 200p is at play now...watch HSBA back to 455 - 456p since going ex divi...that will propel Barc to 200p...HSBA and Lloy still have some catching up to do....

Manics : today was one of those trades where you get on the wrong side... not to worry. I was looking at a re-entry point but buying back into such a climb is never that easy ... should have kept the rose tinted glasses on 😎 !!
