"You are not on the road to Damascus Gideon you remain a scare monger par excellence and must be relegated to the back benches for ever and a day to shine the seat of your trousers. No rewards must be given for your sleeked toadying or for missing every forecast, destabilising the Markets and conducting a par for the course deceitful and disingenuous campaign of mistruths, half-truths and downright lies must follow. As a Chancellor you were a disaster supported by the disgraceful behaviour of Carney. However the majority of the voters saw through your ploys."

Highly unlikely as you say. Barclays may touch £5 before then! ;)

(Incidentally residency can mean different things in different countries - only to read up if you can not get to sleep)!

Alphorn, EU migrants do not have British citizenship, their residency is a just a bilateral agreement between governments concerning free movement. When we leave the EU that treaty would no longer be in effect and in theory EU citizens could asked to move out. Highly unlikely IMO, but in theory they would not be legally entitled to stay.

Ditto an earlier comment. Read carefully.

- Hammond says that it proves UK open for business. Actually companies are at a discount in forex terms. Summer sales.

- A spokeswoman for Prime Minister Theresa May said all foreign takeovers of UK companies will be 'assessed to determine whether they are in the national interest'. Just how are they going to do that? Will she trigger Art 50 this afternoon perhaps? I would be surprised.

- Over the weekend some clown in the govt said that EU immigrants would be sent back. Just how is that going to happen for citizens moving legally?

A few brains need engaging.

btw. well done to ARM holders.

"£24 billion in inward investment with more to come in the next 5 years. More jobs in the pipeline. Company HQ to remain in the UK so any tax on profits remain here. Takeover panel to make the deatails of the deal legally binding. Britain IS open for business. But of course the Remainers doom mongers are whingeing."

Thanks Ken. I have found the following.

Group Chief Executive Officer – Strategy Update Barclays PLC 4

Dividends

We have declared a final dividend of 3.5p per share, making 6.5p in total for 2015. However, we intend to pay a dividend of 3.0p for 2016 and 2017. We expect to set appropriate dividends as Core and Group earnings become aligned through Non-Core run down and reduction of legacy headwinds, and we expect to pay out a
significant proportion of earnings in dividends to shareholders over time. We will pay dividends semi-annually from 2016 rather than quarterly.
