Barclays has agreed a deal with payments and invoice automation software provider Bottomline Technologies which gives UK companies a platform with which to send payments instantly to customers using their mobile phone number.

Anyway, smarty pants, this is apparently for 'active traders' and all sorts of info impact strategies I guess.

The range is there so place your bets. At the moment we could see lovely churn intra-daily if you fancy playing it that way. Personally I find that exhausting and look for movements within quarters, albeit impacted by very large macro factors like Brexit...

Depending on your finances, a play now up to 165 or 168 would be a nice turn, but I'd still wait for the top half of the range to come back again personally. Similar position with the other UK banks. Longer term the wise would simply be putting aside what they can at these knock down prices IMHO.

Good luck however you play it.

Lol, wait until Portside gets back...

For my tuppence-worth, I still see this trading in the 160-180p range, favouring the lower end without really good news on divestments etc., until Brexit vote. Assuming the bookies are right (lol), and we stay in, then a relief rally should begin seeing us through the range ceiling we've occupied since February.

All things being equal, which of course they're not...

"Osborne and Carney, They expect the consumer to keep the economy afloat. Spend, spend, spend followed by Borrow, borrow, borrow. Then repeat the exercise. Personal debt aleady approaching £2 trillion."

Bank Governor Mark Carney is said to have asked lenders to prepare for a possible rate cut.
