03/11/2024 21:18 | Kurakhovo Is In Sight Of Russian Offensive Support SouthFront On November 1, the Russian Armed Forces continued their steady advance on the positions of the Kyiv regime in the region of the Donbass. The main hot points of the current clashes are the areas of Chasov Yar, Selidovo and the countryside of the town of Kurakhovo. Around Chasov Yar, located west of Bakhmut, Russian units were able to consolidate their recent gains in the vicinity of the town. Active offensive actions were ongoing east and south of it, including operations of Russian forward groups in the direction of the village of Stupochki, which is located around the road that links Konstantinovka and Bakhmut itself. Positional fighting was also reported around Selidovo and Novgorodovka. Recently, units of the Russian Armed Forces advanced west of these towns and captured new positions in the countryside of Lisovka and Vishnevoe. In the direction of Kurakhovo, Russian forces fully liberated the village of Kurakhovka northeast of it as well as the villages of Shahterskoe and Novoukrainka in the sector south of the town. The collapse of defense of Kyiv’s forces south of Kurakhovo is the result of the successful Russian operation around Ugledar. In the outskirts of Kurakhovo, a pinpoint Russian strike destroyed an observation post of the 14th operational brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Russians were also able to locate and eliminate a point of temporary deployment for the 35th Marine Brigade in the village of Ulakly and an ammunition depot for the same brigade in Sontsovo. Now, the Russian Armed Forces are working to cut off supply lines of the Ukrainian military both south and north of Kurakhovo. Thus, they are undermining the capability of the Kyiv regime to keep control of the town. In this context, it is interesting to note the recently increased Russian strikes on targets in the rear of Ukrainian forces in this sector. For example, Ukrainian positions around the village of Uspenovka, which sits on an important crossroad between Ugledar and Kurakhovo. It is possible that Uspenovka itself may soon become one of the targets of the Russian advance in this area. Support SouthFront | stonedyou

03/11/2024 13:56 | Kiev Forces Took Losses After Failed Attacks In Kursk (Videos) Support SouthFront The Sever Group of Forces inflicted heavy losses on several Ukrainian formations and repelled three counter-attacks by Kiev forces in the Kursk direction, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on November 3. Ukraine’s 21st, 22nd, 41st, and 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 112th and 129th territorial defense brigades took losses near the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo, the ministry said in a briefing, adding that the counter-attacks were repelled close to the settlements of Malaya Loknya, Novo Ivanovka, and Plyokhovo. “The AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine losses amounted to up to 30 troops killed and wounded,” it stated. The ministry also announced that Russian air and artillery strikes targeted a number of Ukrainian military gatherings in Kursk. The gatherings belonged to the 21st, 41st, 47th, and 61st mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 1st Special Operations Brigade, 112th, 129th territorial defense brigades, and 17th National Guard Brigade, the ministry said. It added that the strikes took place near the settlements of Aleksandriya, Bondarevka, Guyevo, Daryino, Kazachaya Loknya, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Melovy, Nizhny Klin, Nikolsky, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Staraya Sorochina, and Plyokhovo. Other strikes targeted the reserves of the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 47th, 61st, 115th mechanized brigades, 95th Air Assault Brigade, 1st Special Operations Brigade, as well as the 103rd, 106th, and 129th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Andreyevka, Basovka, Belovody, Zhuravka, Miropolye, Obody, Pavlovka, and Khoten in the Ukrainian region of Sumy, according to the ministry. “Over the past 24 hours, the AFU losses amounted to more than 150 troops, one infantry fighting vehicle, one electronic warfare station, and five motor vehicles,” the ministry detailed in its briefing. Separately, videos posted to social networks showed a side of the recent clashes between the Sever Group of Forces and Ukrainian formations in the Kursk direction. Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Kursk last August, relying mainly on foreign mercenaries and Western-made weapons. Since the start of the attack, at least 56 Russian civilians have been killed and more than 266 others have been wounded. Moreover, the attack displaced more than 144,000 civilians. The fate of some 2,000 others who lived in areas attacked by Kiev forces remain unknown. The Russian military launched a counter-attack in Kursk in September. Nearly half of the settlements initially occupied by Ukrainian troops have been already liberated. According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 29,250 troops, 180 tanks, 102 infantry fighting vehicles, 106 armored personnel carriers, 1,063 armored fighting vehicles, 785 motor vehicles, 255 artillery guns, 40 launchers, including 11 American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, ten air defense systems, seven transport-loading vehicles, 59 electronic warfare stations, 12 counter-battery radars, four aerial radars, 25 engineering vehicles, including 13 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, five armored recovery vehicle, and one command post vehicle. 03/11/2024 13:48 | In Video: Russian Army Destroys Another Israeli-Made Radar In Ukraine Support SouthFront The Russian military has destroyed another Israeli-made Improved and Enhanced Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (ieMHR) in Ukraine. The radar was struck by a Lancet loitering munition close to the settlement of Novoserhivka in the Zaporizhia region. The strike set the radar and its support equipment on fire. Video footage of the successful strike was posted to social networks on November 2. Israel’s RADA Electronic Industries developed the ieMHR to provide hemispheric surveillance. The system can operate as a part of counter-drone and short-range air defense systems or operate as a stand-alone counter-rocket, artillery and mortar radar. The system has a maximum detection range of up to 100 kilometers for large transport aircraft. It can detect fighter jets from 65 kilometers and medium-sized drones from 45 kilometers. As for projectiles like rockets, artillery and mortars, the detection range is between 10-14 kilometers. Last year, the Kiev force received some 16 ieMHR systems from Lithuanian, 12 installed on stationary bases and four on high-mobility vehicles. The radars were reportedly purchased for more than $14 millions. Several of these radars have been already damaged or destroyed by the Russian military. The supply of the advanced radar systems wouldn’t have happened without the approval of the Israeli Ministry of Defense. While Israel was among the first in the world to voice its support for the Kiev regime after the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine more than two years ago, the country limited its air to Kiev force to non-lethal equipment. 03/11/2024 09:49 | What Warren Buffett’s $100 billion Apple stock offload is telling us Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A) has made another significant reduction in its Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) holdings, marking four consecutive quarters of sell-offs in its largest equity stake. According to Berkshire’s Q3 2024 earnings report, the Omaha-based conglomerate held $69.9 billion in Apple shares at the end of September, a stark decrease from its peak value of $174.3 billion in late 2023. The recent sale trimmed Berkshire’s Apple stake by nearly 25%, reducing it to approximately 400 million shares. This downsizing follows an even larger reduction in the second quarter, where Berkshire offloaded over a third of its position in the tech giant. Berkshire’s significant Apple stock sale aligns with a broader trend of liquidating high-value positions, notably including a $9 billion reduction in Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) shares. Altogether, Berkshire sold approximately $36 billion in equities in Q3, largely comprising Apple and Bank of America, swelling its cash reserves to an unprecedented $325.2 billion. Analysts speculate that Buffett’s recent sales may be due to premium valuations, as Apple is currently trading at 31 times its projected earnings, a forward P/E ratio of 30.20, according to Stock Analysis | johnwise

01/11/2024 13:00 | UK factory activity shrinks for first time since April Activity in the UK’s manufacturing sector contracted last month for the first time since April following a drop in new orders, according to new data. The closely watched S&P Global UK manufacturing PMI survey recorded a reading of 49.9 for October, down from 51.5 in the previous month. Any reading above 50 means a sector is in growth while a score below this means it is shrinking. The latest reading was lower-than-expected, with a consensus of analysts having forecast 50.3 for the month. The survey found that some firms held off investment amid a “wait-and-see approach” ahead of the Government’s Budget announcement on October 30. New orders decreased for the first time since April on the back of a “lack of market confidence”, as some domestic clients sought more clarity about how budget policies could impact their operations or spending plans. Demand was weaker from both domestic and export clients, with export orders falling for the 33rd consecutive month. | johnwise |
