14/1/2021 14:52 | So nothing to see here. All is well at BPC. Carry on investing. | lithological heterogeneities
14/1/2021 14:50 | 11 Jan 2021 - Lombard joins tree hugging Alliance Lombard announced they just joined forces with two other companies to form a Major Tree hugging Alliance and between them have committed to "To mobilise USD 10 billion towards Natural Capital themes across asset classes by 2022." So looks like selling BPC to finance new Natural alliance. Would not look good if they were still financing Oil Exploration imho. | lithological heterogeneities
14/1/2021 14:47 | I was referring to the rampers -The company has never "lied" IMO they have just deliberately misled those foolishly unwilling to honestly appraise statements - that's not a crime. | bigsi2
14/1/2021 14:09 | @BigSc - The lies gradually exposed But not just the company. Look at the main rampers on LSE who were proferring all sorts of reasoning and denials as why Volantis/Lombard couldn't be selling. And now - reasons why they wouldn't sell below 2p. I appreciate that these guys are in it into their necks now, but their posts simply draw in new/novice PIs with punts but which aren't sizable enough to stop the drift. | mistt
14/1/2021 13:39 | I hope so. I just don't understand how the environmentalists think they can peddle their lies without BPC being a party to the hearing for any JR. Pretty sure once BPC set the record straight and pull Fred Smith up on his infantile arguments the court won't grant a JR. | whoppy
14/1/2021 13:05 | Hearing today re. BPC being added as a party to current proceedings. That would be a big win for BPC if successful, outcome will be known very soon. Contrary to AIM rules we seem to have missed quite a few TR1 notices as LO holdings have decreased from 7.31% to 4.83%, a rate of daily offload near enough 10m. Another 200m admitted tomorrow which will bring LO back up to 400m. | carpadium

14/1/2021 11:53 | Bahamas Petroleum Company shares (LSE:BPC) have been weak and they remain weak. Hopes of bullish momentums have been dashed, and it seems things may go further downwards from here. The current phase of bearish movement started around the middle of November 2020, and it holds. Price is below the EMA 21, and the Williams’ % Range period 21 is in a much oversold territory. The weakness in the market has be so strong to the extent that, it does not make sense to assume any long positions right now. BPC would continue going further southwards, towards the support levels at 2.00, 1.50 and 1.00 in the year 2021. Any rallies attempts in the market will be clear signs of opportunities to go short when prices become a bit expensive, and in the context of a downtrend. | specialistlegionsupercharged

14/1/2021 10:26 | hsfinch,if you look at the bigger picture bpc have other drills to start in trinidad and suriname, I admit P1 is one big gamble which might or not pay off. Should it fail the company is producing a small amount of oil in trinidad and will increase with drilling success. | martyn9
14/1/2021 10:15 | I suppose that the nutters posting here are green activists. As with all wildcats there's a strong possibility it will be a duster or a non-commercial discovery. There's probably a 25% chance it will be a commercial discovery and a 5% chance it will be an elephant. Shareholders here are punters rather than investors. But that's fair enough. Nothing wrong with being a punter. | hsfinch

14/1/2021 09:26 | ...“As a matter of fact, Perseverance #1 has been fully funded, including a significant contingency, since the date of mobilization, as is clearly stated in the press release issued to the London Stock Exchange by BPC on January 12, 2021,” the company said. “Any other interpretation of this press release represents a deliberate and gross misrepresentation of the facts and/or demonstrates a selective naivety as to how businesses operating in The Bahamas (and internationally) maintain the capital to fund themselves.” Former Finance Minister and Director of BPC James Smith stated: “The lengths the environmental groups are going to in order to distort the facts is frightening, and quite frankly wrong, demonstrating a stark lack of understanding of commonplace business funding practices. “Like most businesses, at any point in time, BPC has a mix of ‘cash at bank’ and other funding facilities that can be drawn as and when needed, in order to ensure the costs associated with funding are only borne when the money is actually required. “ He added: “It is worth noting that BPC bears all of the costs of the exploration well. The government does not have to contribute a single dollar, but gets to share the benefits of success. “In authorizing BPC to drill this well, the Bahamian government is exercising its legitimate, sovereign right to find out if The Bahamas has its own important resource, which has the potential to benefit current and future generations of Bahamians.” | jcgswims |
