Rotten Egg, I could not put it better myself, I've had the mis pleasure of knowing Pro from the Falkland days, buys. Sells makes a little money, but he cannot stand seeing a share go up after he sells, just in case others make more money then him

Credit to the BOD and their recent transparency (if you choose to read the RNS in full) at this late stage, prior to any potential catastrophic losses for investors I imagine the BOD are rather keen to appear to have been upfront over any fundraising, gone are the references for the benefit of our resident simpletons to NDAs, Late stage negotiations, farm outs, drill for equity, RBL etc and it's just PRUDENT flat out clawing in as much cash as practicably possible prior to TD.Of course I've been warning this is EXACTLY what would happen for the last two years - but I'm a liar apparently ;)

Given the range of upcoming activities across BPC's portfolio of assets in Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, The Bahamas and Uruguay, the Board considers that it is prudent to enter into the Funding Agreement and Funding Option Agreement at this time, in order to give it greater and immediate certainty as to the Company's funding

Fully funded ??No- it's all conditional.I know this because BPC say so...From today's RNSIn circumstances where neither the balance of the fixed-conversion price conditional convertible notes is available, nor the Call exercised, BPC would need to rely on seeking alternative funding if it was to be able to complete the full intended program of work for 2021 (most particularly in Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname). There can be no assurance that BPC would be successful in securing any such alternative funding, and if this were the case, the planned program of work in Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname might need to be curtailed or deferred.

Funding requirements are used as and when needed. Having a facility available makes you fully funded. As and when BPC choose to use it is up to them, if it is needed. They only use funds from the various facilities when it's needed for the specific operations. ie: mobilising a rig, drilling, equipment, Covid mitigation, extensive evaluation of the well. The particular option they have exercised is for extensive evaluation of hydrocarbons over and above already budgeted for, ie: best case scenario.

Well, that's a reasoned argument. So we're saying that bpc essentially had no cash left from the previous money raised, other than for other op costs?

mistt - The way it works is they need extra funding while they are drilling for evaluation of any find. They cannot say they have found oil until they have done proper extensive evaluation, hence this option BPC has chosen to exercise. Additionally, in order for Lombard to grant this option, BPC have agreed to extend the guarantee period to Lombard beyond the well result, April 16th, for reconciliation payment for sale of shares below 2.3p. Hence, BPC are very confident that the share price post well result will not involve any compensation payment to Lombard. This means they know they have struck it big.

Fairs play to Cars. but his view on bpc placing further shares at 2p is just naive. Surely the most parsimonious view would be either that bpc have no oil or that it's too early yet for any sampling/analyses, and that bpc are looking to secure additional funds for further drilling in the case of a duster. The placing at 2p would simply make no sense, rather it would be a RNS - hey lads we're found oil - followed a day later by a 4-5p placing. What a gamble.

Posted by CarsCoffee of LSE fame after buying circa £200k's worth of stock today... Enough said I'd say....People talking about this latest raise today and saying why would the ii invest if we didn't have oil? They had already signed the deal back in mid December so at that point had no idea of the oil status. The recent raise today (put) was in BPC's control. The Call will be the ii putting in the extra cash using their discretion. As I have said previously, having taken this funding option today we either have oil or the board are knowingly leading us into bankruptcy.I have to assume the board are making decisions in the company's best interest so this means we have found oil.
