Still way undervalued. Broker average is 637, which in my humble opinion is about right.
Really not sure why its not shooting up.

Research into 'acoustic cloaking' wins annual ICASE award

Dave Short, BAE Systems Technology Director said: “We work closely with the country’s best universities, funding and mentoring students in research at the very cutting edge of technology. As well as helping give the UK’s Armed Forces a competitive edge, much of this research has applications in the commercial sector - Charlie’s excellent acoustic research could help reduce the impact of ship noise on marine life. I congratulate him on winning.”

Berenberg: don’t overlook undervalued BAE Systems

Shares in BAE Systems (BA) are ‘clearly undervalued’ despite a lack of catalysts for the defence giant, according to broker Berenberg.

Analyst Andrew Gollan retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and increased the target price from 590p to 600p on the stock, which closed up 1.2%, or 5.8p, at 496p on Tuesday.

Gollan said the group had delivered ‘solid financial results’ for 2020 despite Covid-19-related disruption.

‘Investors remain focused on all sorts of worthy themes – cyclical recovery, growth versus momentum versus value – yet continue to look straight past BAE as an attractively priced, long-term growth story where risk is in decline and potential for shareholder returns is increased,’ said the analyst.

Although he admitted there was ‘no clear catalyst for when the market will acknowledge such investment attributes’, Gollan said the shares were ‘clearly undervalued’.

general market rise across the board possibly.
Who knows these days.
One day up, next day down depending on 10yr US yield, risk on/averse sentiment and general market machinations.

Tend not to follow Defence that much these days tbh as attention diverted elsewhere.

Update: Pentagon, Lockheed Martin reach settlement on F-35 spare parts fees

The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin have settled over hundreds of millions of US dollars in labour costs that the armed services incurred in managing non-ready-for-issue (non-RFI), or installation, spare parts for its fleet of F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters (JSFs).

some decent price action today, wonder what caused the spike from 4.90 to 5.04 in a matter of minutes just now. was it just the bounce back of the ftse? i'm looking for £6 by the year end.

shalder. I think you could be right (although its Samlesbury who do the work). Only 2 shifts, on low rate production. But ultimatelly I think it would be another penalty to pay and not our (UK) jobs.

I appreciate it is only rumours at this stage, but if the F35 buy is truncated at 48 then the US won't be very happy about the UK workshare deal which was based on 138. Could this have an impact on Warton?

USN is clearly reluctant to put its faith in the F35C and is also looking at other options.

One of the serious mistakes by various air forces (incliuding the USN) after the end of the cold war was to reduce and in many cases eliminate long range aircraft types in the inventory. The rise of China and the 9 Dash Line only emphasises this error.

WASHINGTON ― The House Armed Services Committee chairman railed at the expensive F-35 Joint Strike Fighter on Friday, saying he wants to “stop throwing money down that particular rathole,” ― just days after the Air Force said it too is looking at other options.

Uk arms spending is irrelevant these days. Then again arms are going high tech and BAE benefit from that especially as they can move more and more of this tech into civilian uses
