 BAE Systems will collaborate with German military systems specialist ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH, part of the HENSOLDT Group, to explore ways to combine their technology and experience across the European defence market.
The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities to work together across a range of areas including training, autonomous platforms and mission systems for multi domain operations.
Both companies already work across a wide range of European defence programmes including Eurofighter Typhoon, Tornado and Future Combat Air Systems.
Tony Gilchrist, Business Development Director BAE Systems Air said: "A collaborative approach is key for the European defence industry and this agreement is another example of where we are exploring opportunities for joint capabilities and technologies which will ensure our security for the future.

Tasks to be performed include systems engineering and integration, test engineering, data analysis, and safety engineering. Work will be performed in Rockville, Maryland (85.1%); Washington, D.C. (8.7%); League City, Texas (1.7%); and various other locations (less than 1% each, 4.5% total). Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2027. Fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $1,300,000 and fiscal 2025 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $18,253,629 will be obligated at the time of award.
